The room was OK, but the bed could have been a little softer or had a softer pillow-top and the pillows were a little too synthetic and didn't give like a natural fiber or feathers. The towels and washcloths could have been softer, too. Everything was very clean, regardless of its feel.
I liked the mini-fridge and the AC worked well. The blackout curtains could use a spruce-up--one of them was torn and they didn't overlap enough to keep light out--I had to use a binder clip to keep them closed.
Some of the outlets were hidden and it's obvious the property was built before the mobile era due to lack of easily accessible electrical outlets--something on the desk would have been nice for my laptop.
The hallway was loud and I got stuck on the elevator for a few minutes. The back parking lot looks like doomsday at night--a few more lights would certainly brighten up the experience and while you claimed to have security patrolling the premises, I don't believe I ever saw anyone doing that. The back parking lot also was experiencing some severe drainage issues and was flooded for the last 4 days.
The treadmill in the fitness room didn't seem to work whenever I tried it

The staff was great! We had a large family wedding at a venue in downtown. The shuttle drivers took great care of us. The people at the front desk let us use areas to gather as family in between wedding events and late night socializing. There were about 90 of us.

We stayed one night as we were passing through the area. The inside of the hotel is much better looking than what first impressions were from the outside. But as with many of the Holiday Inn hotels that have some age to them, this one too could stand some updating. But overall, it was a fine place to spend the night.
