Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great location but not clean We arrived late in the evening after an excellent visit to the Plaza. There was no parking. I waited for someone to leave the parking garage and then squeezed our car by a column by folding in the mirrors. We had registered for a kind size room online but received a queen room. Too tired to get it switched. Blinds did not close to block all light. Saw blood on wall near bathroom doorway in the morning. I used my points so this stay was very inexpensive. April 24, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Lack of responsiveness to customers Front desk was lack of enthusiasm and responsiveness. Room was getting old, worn and dimmed. I liked the free parking even though the parking lot was very tight. I have chosen the bonus point from three options, but have not seen it yet even after I called the hotel a couple of days ago. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor check-in experience Upon arrival (approx. 3 PM) my room was not ready. The rooms of the other members of my group were. I was told it wouldn't be very long so I waited. Over an hour later I went back to the front desk and asked if my room was ready. I was told it wasn't but it should be ready in about 20 - 30 minutes. I was offered another room but I wanted to be near the group I was there with so I said I could wait. I knew the room number and while waiting I decided to join my group. I noticed my room was just down the hall and there wasn't any housekeeping staff around the area outside my room. Around 5 PM I went back to the front desk and asked if my room was ready and was told they were working on it. I informed them otherwise and at this time I asked if there was another room close to the group I was with. There was one fairly close so I took it instead of waiting any longer. There was very little in the way of an apology for the long wait even though I mentioned I had been waiting about 2 hours. I didn't appreciate being told the room was being cleaned when it wasn't. I'm not saying that I was outright lied to but I would think they should have known if it was or wasn't. I don't remember the time (maybe 5:30 - 6:00 PM) but I did eventually see housekeeping cleaning the room. Then there was the incident with two members of my group who had their personal coffee mugs removed from their room on Saturday morning after housekeeping had made up their room. After calling the front desk the mugs were eventually found and returned to my friends with no explanation as to how or why the mugs were taken. They had left more valuable stuff out and it was left untouched. The mugs had sentimental value for them and that was the reason they contacted the hotel staff. April 23, 2015

My favorite thing (besides the great fresh fruit) was the free shuttle service and the cheerful, courteous service provided by every single driver they provided. I rode with four different drivers and they were all terrific. April 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff at Front Desk The young lady at check-in was fairly new to her job (as she mentioned in our conversation), but she was professional, informed, and helpful. Excellent customer service from her and also from the manager during that afternoon. However, the friend with whom I was traveling did not experience that same sort of helpfulness with the heavy equipment that she had to carry up the stairs. One HI staff member asked if she was finished using the baggage trolley, but no offer was made to assist her with her things. The problem with this is - there was no elevator to the second floor (the only floor where she could bring her dog). She had to bring the crate up the stairs without staff help and without an elevator. While the customer service at the front desk were thoughtful and willing to go the extra step, these qualities were not exhibited by the staff member that my friend encountered. Not many nice hotels are pet friendly. I am glad we were able to find this one at the last minute. One last bit of advice to HI: Since the total cost for a 1 night stay was quite expensive (over $200), one should find a good, high pressure shower, April 22, 2015
