I flew into BWI at midnight on May 16. The hotel shuttle driver arrived to pick myself and my small dog up in the hotel van. He escorted me and my dog inside the van, shut the door then returned to pick up my luggage. I could hear him in the rear of the van but could not observe his actions. Upon arriving at the hotel, he directed me to check in while he "took care of my luggage". At 1:04 I was in my room, however by 2:00 I had to call the front desk and ask they stop the cleaning that was being done at that hour, just outside my room. The noise stopped around 2:30. I fell asleep around 3:00 am. I was woken at 6:00 since the staff room was directly opposite my room and the noise, laughter, talking, etc. made it impossible to sleep. Therefore, I got up and started putting my things together and realized one of the pieces of my luggage was missing. I called the front desk to ask where the driver may have placed it. The staff checked the storage closets, but could not locate it. Two days later, after speaking with the driver, he admitted he left it behind at the airport! During this trying time, no one offered to assist me with the remaining luggage, so as a 63 year old woman, I lifted it myself and caused some injury to my back. I have not been offered a refund on my room, or indeed, any type of compensation, and was even asked if I had a receipt before they would take accountability for my luggage. I am a club member and have stayed at this particular hotel for years without previous incident. In this case, I believe they should keep their customers outside the van until their luggage is loaded, to be sure the job is done correctly, and the manager (once being aware the driver left it behind) should be more accountable in her dealing with customers.

The hotel and the staff are excellent and we're very accomodating. We didn't leave the room until after 2pm on Saturday and housekeeping still came and cleaned it for us. I've never been disappointed with a stay at a Holiday Inn. The only issue I had was that breakfast cost extra & wasn't complimentary. The price wasn't worth it when there's a Bob Evans & Cracker Barrel just up the road.
