Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and clean room I enjoyed my stay. The bed was comfortable and I slept well. I wished I could set the fan to run all the time to help block noise but there wasn't an option to do that. Also there was some mold at the top of the wall in the shower but it's tucked away and would be difficult for the cleaning people to see (you have to be in the shower looking up). October 2, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Old property with questionable staff This hotel is pretty dirty and the staff (at the lest at the front desk) is useless. The shuttle to classes to Epic is also very limited. The restaurant attached to the hotel is awful. The only thing that might be worth the hassle is the bar downstairs. The elevators take forever, old carpet, food trays from room service all over the place. They don;t seem to pick them up during the entire night. It is close to the highway but that is about it. I have stayed in this hotel about three times within the last year and nothing has changed. You have been warned. October 2, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by How Hotels Should Be! We were so impressed with this Holiday Inn! Remember how hotels had the most courteous and helpful staff? Remember how hotels were more impressive than your trip? The lobby is so beautiful, I had to double check to see if I was at the right hotel! I can't wait to get back here! So relaxing! The beds were comfortable, we were able to sleep through the whole night! Loved the idea of being on the main floor with french doors out to the pool area! Made it very nice for kids to run back and forth from the pool and our room without worrying about them roaming the halls. The pool area was very impressive with a strict policy of no kids allowed in the hot tub, a tiki bar by the pool, 3 life guards, yes 3 of them watching over the pool! The hotel restaurant was amazing! During our stay, the staff was so willing to help out on anything. Love this hotel! Wish they had rooms available on our anniversary so we come back there! The only cons of this hotel is the game room, most games were broken or weren't playing right, the pool could be a little bigger for older kids, and they need to change their room description involving a chair/sleeper. No chair, no sleeper and only one air mattress in the whole hotel. But they did step up and bring our 3rd child extra fluffy comforters, pillows and blankets for the floor. She said she slept very well. But do not let the cons stop you from staying, this is an amazing hotel with an amazing staff! September 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice comfortable stay for Epic training I have stayed here a couple of times for Epic training. The hotel is nice and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. I can always count on them to have a taxi waiting for me for my early departures. Shuttle service is professional, nice, reliable. The rooms are clean and bed nice & comfortable. The only issue I had is fairly minor... hot water was inconsistent during peak hours (6:30AM-7AM) due to everyone waking up and taking showers prior to shuttle departure for Epic. It helped to wake up about 15 mins earlier and shower at 6:15AM. Location is great... safe area to walk around. There are restaurants about 1 mile south and also shops/restaurants 1 mile north of the hotel. I'm looking forward to my next stay with Holiday Inn next month! September 23, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I was very uncomfortable and disappointed with the shuttle services to and from the airport from the Holiday Inn Madison West. When mentioning it to front desk staff they were very dismissive and did not seem to care. I set up shuttle service prior to the trip. Once I arrived the shuttle was 45 minutes late picking up myself and a group of others staying at Holiday Inn and other hotels in the area they shuttle to and from as well. Once picked up we did not go straight to the hotel, we stopped at a clinic where we waited 30 minutes to pick up two other people. They did not come out so the driver left and we got down the road and he got a call they were ready so he turned around and went back to get them. It took two hours to get from the airport to the hotel. I make this trip often (8 times per year) and have never ever had an experience like this. When leaving I requested a shuttle at 7am and they said they could not shuttle until 7:30 which was cutting it close to me making my flight but the desk reassured me it would be plenty of time. I got a call morning of my departure at 6:40 asking if I could leave at 7 stating they were having shuttling schedule issues. Once again we did not go straight to the airport, we stopped at the VA hospital to drop people off. There is a restaurant in the hotel, Benvenutos, that I tried ordering from two nights in a row. I called room service and the restaurant and got voicemail. I was thinking they were busy and left a voicemail with my name and room number so I thougth they would call back but never did. Overall, very disappointing experience. I will not be returning to this particular Holiday Inn. September 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Conference at Holiday Inn West Madison I was very surprised at the top notch level this Holiday Inn is. Not all Holiday Inns are this nice. The atmosphere, décor, rooms, and staff were excellent. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. September 18, 2015
