Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiant and Full of Character Arrived late in the evening after a very long day of business in the bayous west of NOLA. The valets were polite and attentive, speedy too. Check-in was a breeze and quickly went to the room. The building is old and has character. I had a ground floor suite for the night - upgraded. My only complaint was the narrowness of the door. It was a challenge to get in and out with a backpack and luggage in tow. The proximity to Bourbon Street and the French Quarter is a major selling point. It is a great area to walk and the hotel is far enough off the main drag to not have issues with the noise. The furnishings were upscale, the bed and linens quite comfortable. My only ding would be for the tiny bathroom. I would definitely choose this property if coming back to NOLA again for business, with some play planned for after-hours. August 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Under construction The hotel is under construction. I was not given a suite like on my previous visits to this hotel and as I requested because they weren't open. The room I was given with a king bed was nice and had more flair than a standard hotel room. Despite all of the construction going on the noise level wasn't bad, but I was up early for work purposes. The dining room is only open on some dates of the week, but dining options in the nearby French Quarter are plentiful. The location of the hotel is perfect, just behind Bourbon Street, but on a quiet street. The staff is very friendly. August 25, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great location but wait on renovations completion Location was the main driver for the our reservations at this hotel. The staff was friendly, special kudos to the valet. However, the hotel is undergoing a major renovation that makes most of the amenities unavailable to the guests (ie pool closed, no restaurant) . Charging full rate seems unreasonable or at the very least the renovation should be mentioned on the site when booking. Our room looked like it was recently updated and the style was nice but the AC was not able to keep up with the New Orleans humidity. And although it was refreshing to take a cool shower, it wasn't by choice as the temperature never got past lukewarm. I would be willing to give this location another shot but not until AFTER the renovations are complete. August 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed When we made our reservation, we requested to a balcony with a view and we were given a reservation for that type of room. When we arrived and got to our room - no balcony, no view. When we called the desk, we were told that due to the renovations going on, all the balcony rooms were being remodeled and were unavailable. We were already valet parked, so no real chance to look for other options on our short stay. I understand renovations are necessary and there will be inconvenience in these situations, but since we were given a reservation for a room that would not be available, and since we did not find out about the room situation and construction until we were checked in and in our room, I felt that the overall situation was unacceptable. We most certainly would have looked around for other options had we known. Maybe the hotel knew that and that is why we weren't told. Also, loud construction work started in close-by rooms on the same floor as our room at 8:00 in the morning. Again, renovations are understandable - not knowing about them at the time of making a reservation is unacceptable to me. The staff was friendly and as accommodating as possible, and we did receive a discount to a non-balcony room rate, but the hotel is really torn up and given that we had one day in New Orleans and we booked this location with a balcony and a view for a reason, it was a disappointing experience. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Loved this place!! It was perfectly located and absolutely loved our room. We were just far enough from Bourbon Street to not hear the noise but not too far to walk. Our room was extremely comfortable and we slept like babies. Will definitely stay here every trip to the Quarter from here on out!! August 11, 2015
