Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Very tired hotel
We arrived late due to closure of M1. I stayed here in the 60s when it was a Post House and the hotel doesn't seem to have been updated since then. Staff were excellent but having to carry a large case up and down flights of stairs late at night was a pain. Room was clean but dated. Bed extremely soft and, although hotel seemed fairly empty, there was a very noisy guest in the next room. Food adequate but poor selection. Didn't have breakfast. Won't stay again.

Lifeless, no home comforts, overpriced (if having to pay rack rate). Everything a branded hotel shouldn't be. Only the staff can take pride in trying to meet customer service.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Paul - Eastleigh It's a long time since I woke up in the middle of the night, and had to switch on the electric fire to get warm -
Sprawling hotel. I had a remote ground floor room on a corner, so two outside walls -
presumably lacking adequate insulation. It's obviously a problem room, otherwise, why else would the room have an electric fire?
On the plus side, great breakfast, all the usual but was nice and hot. Nice to be asked if there was anything else I wanted, before they cleared things away. And full marks to the staff for just being cheerful and helpful.I would come again. But would be wary of which room.
