I stay in Holiday Inn's all of the time. This one really pushed my buttons. The line to check in was 20 minutes long then tired and hungry, I ordered room service. First I asked what kinds of wine they had and the guy that answered didn't know so he went to ask someone. No wine...
I ordered and waited ...and waited and then after an hour called down to check. The guy that answered the phone said "oh what did you order?" I told him and he said we are out of that. I then asked "well was anyone going to let me know?" He said, well I didn't take the order. The worst service ever. I hung up and ate some oatmeal in my bag...

Upon arrival... There was one person in front of me receiving assistance with a room reservation; there were 2 staff members moving between the front desk and the office in the rear of the front counter area; 3 staff members at the front counter in utter confusion with figuring out what rooms were available/clean/and not blocked out for another group supporting the Super Bowl crowd. With 3 employees at the counter juggling rooms and helping one person, it took over 40 minutes for me to get a room. When I went to my room, the door was open (not just unlocked, open). I entered the room, looked around, and returned to the front desk for another room. I was told that the room was okay, housekeeping probably just didn't close the door completely. Then I was told there were no other rooms available. I asked again for another room, because I know there should be something else available. Then I was told they were still trying to figure out which rooms were clean. Someone eventually went to physically check a couple of rooms to be sure they were clean. After waiting an additional hour in the front desk area, adding to my initial 45 minutes, I finally got keys to another room. This was a handicap room where everything was affixed closer to the floor, and a bench mounted to the shower wall. The room looked like its best days were behind it, with water stains and a few cracks in the wall. The seating looked worn as well. I decided to just sit on the bed. I wanted to talk to a GM but no one was available. I didn't feel like waiting for a business card after checking out, thinking that I would just call back. Needless-to-say, I just decided to stay at another brand when in the area in the future.
