I was very impressed with hotel at first blush. When we checked in I asked about if there was a place to park and was told hopefully we can find something. The next night after a long day we arrived back at hotel, tired and hungry only to find 2 wedding receptions and a public event and no parking. I told staff that our veh would be left near the door as no stalls are available. Staff explained hotel owns no parking and all stalls belong to City so they have no control. This seems ridiculous and hotel management shoukd meet with PD for special events planning to better control impact on business. That night i had to wait until after 10pm to move veh before i could retire for night. The next day our free breakfast was an additional $40 because we didn't read fine print. Great breakfast but when u think it is included in lodging stay it swings your value to the con side. This was our last of 14 consecutive stays on vacation and although it was a beautiful facility and location my 3 teenage boys agreed it was worst value. We previously stayed near Seattle and San Francisco with breakfast included. Special thanks to housekeeping staff who always had a smile and did their work efficiently and effectively.

We had stayed in this hotel in 2014 and our experience was wonderful which is why we chose it again. Vastly different experience this time I'm afraid.
Our first full day we had no soap provided in our room after climbing Harney Peak and being on a deadline for showering due to a dinner engagement. We called the front desk and waited 20 minutes. When nobody came with the soap, we had to go down and get some. Our second day we came back to no towels in our room. The front desk did deliver that time. At one point we actually ran out of toilet tissue and had to retrieve that as well.
We had eaten in the hotel restaurant a few times last year which was very good. Frankly we were afraid to try it again this year after our first brunch experience. Cold powdered eggs? The equipment in the exercise room was bare minimum - a Smith machine and a few medicine balls. Our stay was in July, and we learned that the bar area has been under renovation since March. On our last day we had no Wi-if. Come on Holiday Inn Rushmore Plaza, where did you go so wrong?
