Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent for the price My room was VERY clean and nice-sized, all furnishings were in good shape. Lighting in the room and bathroom was awful- those soul-sucking energy efficient bulbs were in every lamp and it gave the room a dreary feel. I also ate at the hotel bar/restaurant several times and got really bad service on each occasion. Restaurant staff members were sitting there chatting while I was waiting 15+ minutes to get my order in... SEVERAL TIMES! The food was fine, but it took forever to get my order taken and to pay after my meal. Fitness center was nice and clean too though. Overall, I'd stay here again, but I'll be prepared to venture out into the neighborhood for food and steer clear of the hotel bar. February 14, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clean spacious room I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The rooms were spacious, very clean and decorated nicely. The front desk staff and housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. I just stayed for a overnight getaway. I was a little disappointed there was no fruit or treats for me being a Platinum member. But I guess I'm a little spoiled, but I would definitely recommend this location January 5, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by End of a long day When I arrived in New York and called the hotel to see when the shuttle would be at the pick up point they said it would be 20 minutes. That turned out to be 35 minutes. I arrived to the hotel at 10:40pm 20 minutes before the restaurant was to close. The service in the restaurant was very slow. The room was clean and TV functional. The sound of aircraft taking off and landing was all I heard for the few hours that I was in bed. In the morning I was down at the reception desk at 6:01am to check out and the 6:00am shuttle had already left for the airport. While I am a big fan of being on time... this was not the experience I had when I arrived. So I waited 30 minutes for the next shuttle going to the airport. This meant that I was not at my departure terminal until 6:45am. This experience was memorable for all the wrong reasons. Not the way I wanted to close out 2013. January 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not Ready for Prime Time We stayed at this Holiday Inn for one night before we flew out of the country and then for another night after our return. We paid to leave our cars in their lot while we were gone. When I called Holiday Inn prior to our arrival to check our reservation, it took the agent a long time to find our reservation even though I had the confirmation number and the date of the reservation. We had two rooms. When my daughter and son-in-law were almost there, they worried that they were in the wrong place because it was not near the other airport hotels. Instead it was near a swamp, a recycling facility and a concrete factory. Our hotel room did not have a trash can. When I called down to get one, the staff told me that they did not have trash cans and that the trash cans were back ordered for three weeks. (There were trash cans for sale within a mile but Holiday Inn could not be bothered to purchase them.) The rooms were small and cramped. When my husband was sitting at the desk in the room, I had to climb over the bed to get to the other side of the room without bumping him. When I turned on the shower, the water smelled of chlorine. I Initially thought that New York must have stinky water, but a merchant at another facility gave me some New York tap water in a cup and it tasted just fine. When we called to be picked up from the airport, the shuttle took longer than promised. The room that we had after our return did have a trash can (it was two weeks after our first stay), but the room temperature was over 90 degrees. The hotel maintanence person came up and tried to fix it, but could not stop the system from blowing out hot air full blast. He was only able to turn the room heating system entirely off. Given that this was December, it would mean that eventually the room would be cold. We were able to move to another room but it was not near the room where our relatives were placed. The hotel does not have ice machines on every floor. If you are on some floors, you have to take there elevator to get ice on another floor. December 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Handy to JFK I arrived here having spent 22hrs traveling from Australia. Had to overnight it in NYC before heading home, didn't want to go into Manhattan. This hotel is very handy to JFK, it's a lovely, relaxing environment with very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommend it,great value for money. December 14, 2013
