Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Heads Up This hotel seems to be a popular choice for families with small children, since it is further away from the River Walk (thus less expensive), yet allows access to other attractions (Six Flags, Sea World, etc.) However there is a tradeoff. The neighborhood is less desirable, the condition of the grounds and facilities leaves something to be desired. During both of my stays there were services out of order (ice machines not working, water turned off, poor internet access). Probably well suited to guests not planning to spend a lot of time in the hotel, but out site seeing. July 30, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Uncormfortable temp in room Had to adjust thermostat to lowest setting to stay comfortable. Humidity in room was unbearable without lowest temp setting. Was fairly comfortable after retiring for the evening except noise from A/C running constantly made it difficult to fall asleep. The layers of bedding made it bearable to sleep. Overall experience was not bad but could have been better July 29, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Older hotel needs repairs This was a trip that was greatly anticipated for a family event. Sadly, despite many previous stays with Holiday Inn, this one fell short. The room was so humid it was literally damp! Photographs began to wrinkle simply sitting in the room. Myself and other family members woke during the night covered in moisture despite varying the temperature on the air controller. The easily opened patio doors made for additional discomforts as there is a lack of a security bar on the ground level and only a cheap latch for locking. The cleaning staff seemingly did not vacuum the room before or during our stay as the same candy bar wrapper that was there before our arrival remained on the floor just under the edge of a chair the entire time. Caulking around the sink and stains on the wallpaper in the bathroom leaves sanitary needs questionable. The water control on the shower left the showers to feel like pin pricks instead of relaxing and it took a very long time to warm the water to a tolerable temperature. One reason the hotel was chosen was for the full service restaurant on premises. However, the costs for mediocre food and poor service despite a lack of guests was too much. This hotel lacks the quality service and appearance that we have previously come to expect from Holiday Inn. Should another trip arise to San Antonio, we will not stay here. July 29, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Service and doesn't deliver on promises. We were promised a Queen room poolside and were originally given a double that wasn't poolside. When we went back to the counter we were told that our room was being cleaned and it would be about 20 minutes. It would up being around 30-45 minutes. We also were guaranteed a roll away bed when we made the reservation. They told me they had to check and see if they had any available. When I finally talked to a manager he told me I wasn't going to be able to get one. I asked it I could maybe get one the next night and he said that it would be impossible. I said how can that be since I was guaranteed one. He told me that they didn't even have any and I should of never guaranteed me one. This was very ruff on our family of 5. I asked around 6PM if I could get some extra pillows and blankets so we could make a pallet, and a ice bucket since ours was missing. I followed up on my request about 3 times and did not get what I asked for until 10:30 PM. I also told the staff about the rooms trash can, and a box were both on the Patio full of empty beer cans. I told the Front desk twice and the Maids once about it. We were at the Hotel for a total of five nights and the trash was still there when we Checked out. Only positive thing about the Hotel to us was the pool and the restaurant/bar. The food was wonderful and the staff was very nice. The bartender Mari was especially nice. She always greeted us with a lovely smile and a wonderful attitude which was greatly needed after dealing with the rest of the staff. July 29, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service, Good location Front Desk Staff were Great, in person and on the Phone. Hotel is about 1 mile away from the Riverwalk and a little more to the Alamo. Still a very easy walk to get to both. Parking is Free which is a Plus, but the Pool / Spa need a little work. Great value for a last minute stay in teh Alamo Area July 27, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by no hot water The front desk told me that they had no water and could not give us a time it would be fixed. I was then advised I could wither deal with the issue or get another hotel. I could have been contacted prior to ariving at the hotel and told of the hot water situation. My family and I did not have time to be calling other hotels and not to mention dealing with high prices due not to make early reservations. The water took two days to get fixed.... July 23, 2015
