The hotel itself is a very nice property. The front desk staff was very attentive to my needs. I was expecting a package to be delivered during my stay and once it was delivered, the front desk staff called me immediately to let me know of the delivery. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I return to the area.

Great Value for the money. The staff was friendly. Only the check in girl was not. The hall way mad it seem like the rooms were going to be ugly and old because that is how the hall is, but the rooms were nice.

Good accommodations, very good service. Carol and I liked the buffet breakfast and the shuttle service. The room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to San Antonio.

When we checked in and got our room assigned "401" all was well. When we opened the door there was a horrible smell emanating in the room. We called and a housekeeping lady appeared and sprayed something on all the base boards and the air conditioner vents. We went into the bathroom and looked around and there were bugs in the light fixture above the vanity. We looked at the tub and the grout had turned black and we immediately thought black mold. We then began to look closer in the room and noticed the moldings were coming off the comers of the room. The smell was starting to return now. It smelled like rancid grease or meat. Then we thought why would the housekeeping lady go directly to the baseboards and spray all of the baseboards she could see, even under the desk. We decided to sleep in the room that night. By morning the smell was back in full odor. We noted all the problems and went to see the manager. He was very understanding and COMPED us the room and gave us another room. So we had move. We moved into the second room and it was somewhat nicer but we did note that the molding was coming off the walls also, but no smell, thank GOD. We related our plight with some of the other sin our group and they too had problems with their rooms and some had to move to another room. Then as we looked around the hotel and the meeting rooms we noted that the wall appeared as if there was a major leak in every room we looked at. We tried the swimming pool and the hot tub, but noticed a black substance on the walls of both the pool and hot tub. All in all the 8 night stay was horrible at best. I will say through all of this the staff was always understanding and pleasant to work with. I am sorry that you had to learn about your hotel this way but this place out of control and needs some major work done on it and the housekeeping and maintenance need to schooled on how to do their jobs and how to report problems

Our stay at this holiday inn location was nice for a short trip. The shuttle service was really the only outstanding part. But upon checkout we asked if there was a shuttle that could take us to the airport, we were told no. After taking a taxi to the airport and waiting for our next hotels shuttle to come pick us up, we see the same holiday inn shuttle there( we know it was the same one because it had the market square paper in the window and the same driver we had been with earlier that day) I am very very confused by this and would like a response as to why we saw this.

A large group of former servicemen and their wives converged from all over the United States on the Holiday Inn Downtown Market Square in San Antonio and remained there for several days in late September. Hotel staff members were cordial and went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible.
