Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Hotel Good Beach. When I arrived at the hotel to check in I was given a room in probably the poorest location in the Hotel. I ended up in a heated debate with the staff at the reception desk about moving to a room in a better part of the hotel. Finally this was resolved. The hotel has an excellent location. The rooms are average. The staff needs work. I have stayed here before and had similar experiences, the only reason to come here is for the beach. Based on this last experience I cancelled further bookings here. February 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by stay somewhere else best to stay somewhere else ,poor old , rundown and needs upgrading. poor value for the money . i do not advise staying here. February 10, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and friendly 1950's hotel at 2016 top notch rates This Holiday Inn was of the 50-60's vintage with the accouterments of that era. The price was of the 2016 era for a Torrey Pines or Ritz Carlton but this is the only hotel in the region, so supply and demand... The staff was nice and the food for the meeting as well as the servers were excellent. The bed was comfortable, but we had to keep adjusting the A/C in the room (window/wall A/C). February 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stay. Good location and value. Small rooms. Mattresses uncomfortable. Very clean room and property. Nice pillows. Restaurant fairly priced but food quality is average. Overall a good value and would stay again. February 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Overall great experience. We really enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Sanibel Island. Beautiful clean facility. Front desk staff was very helpful. Enjoyed gathering shells on the beach. February 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location The location was excellent, right on the beach. Beach chairs were available on beach. Small pool area but meet needs. Great service at Tiki bar but prices were a little steep. Happy hour prices seemed reasonable but we went outside those hours. This is a motel and we were able to park our car right outside our door which I appreciated. Rooms were clean and had a beach ambiance. No carpets in room to wipe feet so tiled floor was a little sandy even after wiping feet off on front door mat. Dinner at resort was good. We were first customers of the day and service was great. Again, location was great. I wish we could have spent more time here. The only thing that disappointed us was that the sunset on the other end of the island. January 30, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Location We had a water view room on the second floor which while the view was fantastic, there really isn't much of an opportunity to view it from the room. The room had an outside balcony which is how the room was entered. It is a common balcony that everyone uses to access the rooms on the second floor. While you can stand on the balcony, there isn't an opportunity to sit an enjoy the view from this area. The room does have a window looking past the balcony to the water which is a great view but if you leave the blinds open anyone walking on the common balcony has a full view of your room. These rooms also have a view of the pool but the same circumstances apply. The hotels location is great as they have a path leading right down to the beach where lounge chairs are provided for their guests. There are food and drinks available by the pool. The drinks were good but rather pricey. Two rum drinks cost $22.33 which included an 18% gratuity. We felt the price was kind of high but given the convenience it didn't stop us from buying a few. The rooms themselves are just average. They were a basic room. A bit darker during the day than we prefer. The beds were comfortable enough but the room felt a bit dated. The hotel restaurant was good. It was a bit pricey but that's to be expected at a hotel restaurant. Overall Sanibel Island is a great Florida destination and the Holiday Inn offers a great location to experience it. Given the issue with the room location you might just be better off getting a room that does not have the water view and saving yourself some money. You can always use the savings to buy a few more drinks at the poolside bar. January 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sanibel vacation We love the hotel. It's got a great location and reminds me a little bit about what old Florida motels were like. (which is a good thing) The staff is always friendly. We come to the hotel every year and it's our favorite stay, and we stay at a lot of hotels throughout the year. We found out during our stay that the hotel has been sold. I hope it stays a Holiday Inn. January 29, 2016
