Nice staff, easy check in process, nice restaurant and bar off lobby. The room was clean and modern, lacked a refrigerator but they have ice machines. The room was comfortable and quiet environment overall a nice stay.

Perhaps this is just how they do things in New York, but I was rather surprised to learn that this hotel doubles as a shelter for Staten Island's homeless population. No punch line. Yes, these homeless "guests" wander the halls, congregate in the lobby, and sleep in the rooms. In the morning, a bus arrives to take these folks shopping. Must be nice. I give more to charity than 95% of people, but when it comes to business travel, I find it offensive that I am expected to pay premium rates to a hotel that has not problem handing out the room next to me to a homeless person. This management at the Holiday Inn clearly puts political correctness over good business decisions, and for that, I will NEVER stay at another Holiday Inn facility. Let's see if the homeless folks you put in the room next to me can keep your business afloat.

We checked in at 11.00am thanks to great staff at front desk who also provided their free shuttle to Staten Island ferry terminal. The hotel is a 30 minute drive away from the ferry terminal but the drivers were on time and were friendly and efficient.
My only issue with the hotel was the noise from the other rooms, people full of their own self importance who seem to think that every other room on the 5th floor wants to hear them. Noise with doors closing seemed to reverberate throughout the other rooms making it a sleepless night with people coming and going at all hours.
The staff were what made our stay very pleasant and I would stay their again
