Featured Newcastle Upon Tyne Hotels

We have several Newcastle budget hotels spread across and around the city. These include a hotel near the Metrocentre and hotels in central locations too.

Newcastle is the economic hub of the North East, sitting on the River Tyne just 8 miles from the North Sea. It's a popular city for party animals and museumgoers alike. Some of Newcastle's most well-known landmarks include the impressive Tyne Bridge, Millennium Bridge and Grey's Monument.

The city is also home to almost 10 museums and galleries. There's the Great North Museum, the Discovery Museum and the Stephenson Railway Museum, to name just a few.

The city attracts thousands of shoppers each weekend. The Eldon Square shopping centre in the Newcastle city centre houses a number of high street brands. If you venture out of town, you can visit the massive Metrocentre, which, in addition to its hundreds of shops, has its own indoor funfair! The Grainger Market is open 7 days a week and has food stalls, cafes, souvenir stands, household goods and fashion stalls too.

Think Newcastle and you undoubtedly think of the black and white stripes of Newcastle Football club, whose stadium is in the heart of the city centre. Newcastle also has a horse racing course as well as a dog racing track.

With its own airport, Newcastle has direct links to a number of UK cities. It's also on the East Coast mainline, connecting the city with London by rail in around 3 hours.

This is a city that always welcomes its visitors with open arms. Stay at one of our Newcastle budget hotels to enjoy the city's many attractions without spending a fortune.

Stayed overnight during brief visit to area. As usual staying at HI hotels was pleasantly and relaxing. Only problem we encountered was we were unable to grow Wi-Fi in our room. As we were only [More] staying for the one night, this was not really a problem. Would we stay there again? Yes we would [Less]

Great location and service from staff
By SharonMC23
This was a return visit to my home town as I now live in Australia. The Hotel is in an ideal location; 2 minutes from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the shopping district of Newcastle. I [More] stayed for 8 nights and very much enjoyed my stay. I would say the overall standout for me was how well the staff responded to all and any queries, always had a smile and a good morning/evening. By the third evening I could also say to the bar staff, "the usual please", and there it was - a classic Margarita, served perfectly. I would certainly recommend this hotel. [Less]
Graet Location, Good Hotel, Need to Improve Standards
By MIB53
Regular Visitor to this Hotel. Felt my last 2 visits it has been letting some of its standards slip. On checking in, not recognised as a Platinum Member and not offered point or a drink. In a Club [More] Lounge Room, not given my Club Lounge Card on check in. Slippers missing in my room (last twice - this has happened). Knew the hotel was busy so came down late for breakfast to avoid the biz, good Idea as it was quiet which I though would prove beneficial. Shown to a table, not offered Coffee or Tea. When I went to select my food many of the items were missing. Came back with some Bacon and Toast, went back later and got some hash browns and beans a further trip and I was able to finally get a fried egg. This hotel in the past has set a very good standard but when so many little things start to be missed by different members o f staff it gets annoying. Mentioned all of these points on check out and was met with a very bland I will pass your comments on to staff. Really expect more for this class of hotel, especially as there was a big IHG Training Conference onsite at the time. Will use next time I am in Newcastle but would hope for a big improvement. [Less]
Great all round
By Jessica
We stayed at the crowne plaza Newcastle for business and leisure and the stay was faultless. The room was spacious and clean and the staff were amazing. But the best part is the breakfast by far, I'd [More] stay again just for that alone! [Less]
