Honestly, this hotel was very pretty. It was new, nicely decorated, and the room was outstanding. My coworkers and I enjoyed our impromptu night out together. However, I did have an issue during my
stay. I understand, from a business perspective, how there are regular guests/customers. However, if another guest has a problem relating to said regular, it needs to be handled with respect and courtesy. The staff was kind and considerate for the rest of my stay, however I had an issue with some regular's children that were playing in the fitness room. Probably around the age of 11 or 12, they were racing each other on the treadmills and hanging off of the ellipticals. It is a liability if the children were to get hurt, if they were left unattended.
As a guest wanting to enjoy my time away from work, I was very agitated by them. They turned the volume up on the tv and were making a lot of noise while I was trying to watch a video and work out on the elliptical and bicycle equipment. I left the fitness center prematurely due to their behavior. When letting the staff know that I was done and they shouldn't be left unattended according to policy, I was told that they are regulars so they are an exception to the rule. I was a little upset, taking it as: if they are regulars it was okay if they disturb other guests. I left with a semi-bitter taste in my mouth. I understand that I never fully brought my problem to their attention, but felt after that response what was the point.
I also never received my 300 welcome amenity points as a gold member. As an IHG employee, I work hard for my points.
The hotel itself was very relaxing. The rooms were very pretty and the lobby was nice too. I do recommend this hotel to anyone that wishes to have a nice stay. But I left feeling less valuable as an IHG employee/ points night guest than the regulars. [Less]
