Today's Berlin is a modern and culturally vibrant city, brimming with beautiful architecture, world-class arts and a thriving nightlife scene. Not to mention, a profusion of museums, monuments and attractions to explore during your Holiday Inn Express® Berlin hotel stay.
Few vestiges remain of the wall that once divided the German capital, and visitors move freely about the city, often unaware which side they are on. Perhaps the most impressive feat is the speed in which Berlin rebuilt itself. The once desolate Potsdamer Platz is now a bustling corporate square with shops, restaurants and luxury condominiums. Catch the latest IMAX movie or German art house film at the Sony Center, a massive retail and entertainment complex located in the heart of Potsdamer Platz.
The Mitte district, formerly part of East Berlin, has become Berlin's city center and a major tourist draw. The tree-lined Unter den Linden leads to the Pariser Platz promenade and towering Brandenburg Gate - one of Berlin's most treasured and beautiful monuments, especially at night when the gates light up. The Reichstag is only a block away, and the 360-degree view from the glass dome roof of this German parliament building is worth the long wait in line.
While you're in the neighborhood, check out Tiergarten Park. Here you'll find the Berlin Zoo, Berlin Philharmonic and some of the most beautiful green spaces and walking paths in the city. The Mitte is also home to the East Berlin art scene, Auguststrasse. If you're looking for ways to save during your Berlin hotel stay, you'll be happy to know that most of the galleries offer free admission.
The Western Zone of Berlin is considered the more commercial side of the city. It also hosts the majority of Berlin's businesses, conventions and festivals. The Ku'Damm (short for Kurfürstendamm) is a popular avenue for its upscale shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs, as well as the greatest concentration of luxury hotels in Berlin. Not too far from the Ku'Damm is Schloss Charlottenburg, the largest palace in Berlin. Despite being burnt to the ground during World Word II, Charlottenburg has been fully restored to its Baroque glory, and both the palace and the grounds are a popular tourist stop.
You many not see it all in one visit, but our Holiday Inn Express Berlin hotels can put you near the major attractions on your list.

FIRST TIME STAY BUT NOT THE LAST - HOPEFULLY
A three day (4 night) stay to visit the more famous sites of the city. The hotel is perfectly placed for this. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The room was great - clean, QUIET and[More] well maintained. There was no shortage of towels and tea and coffee supplies.
In fact it was all brilliant apart from two small thing. Please swap the cucumbers at breakfast for tomatoes. Please? :-) and drop the prices in the bar. 15 Euros for 2 x single Jack Daniels is a bit steep folks.[Less]
Great location, excellent staff.
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Berlin City West for a business trip. I found the hotel staff very attentive and helpful. The location of the hotel was very convenient to the subway and bus line. Upon[More] my return to Berlin I would stay at this hotel again.[Less]
Quick stay before a Flight
Overall experience was great the room was comfortable spacious and clean. Only issues I had was the sink was clogged but due to my brief stay was not a major issue. The staff forgot to setup my[More] wakeup call and setup my taxi service to the airport. I chalk that up to miscommunication, wasn't really a major issue either since I set up my own alarms with a time cushion for any unknowns. Overall the stay was great and I plan to visit berlin with the family since this hotel has a pool a restaurant with great food and is in an area that is not so active.[Less]
Was great trip, hotel really surprise me.
Airport shuttle drop me at Tegel at 10 minutes.[Less]
