By virtue of being an InterContinental Royal Ambassador member, I have travelled widely and stayed at many of the InterContinental properties across the world.
InterContinental Dubai Festival City
then became a natural choice for me when planning a surprise 40th Birthday party for my other half.
I needed somewhere that could work with me, plan whilst thinking outside the box, and cater to the needs of 22 guests all arriving over three flights within an hour of each other, and then work with them to surprise my other half when we arrived later in the day.
Of course, it was a huge success with particular mention to the Club Lounge team who were shining stars. I would like to mention individual efforts, however these reviews do not permit it - you know who you are if you are reading this review!
All of the rooms were allocated exactly as specified, arrival was seamless, and guest service was second to none.
Service by the pool, in the Club Lounge and Anaise Restaurant was impeccable.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to visit Dubai. Whilst it is slightly away from the City Centre, it is in a prime location for a relaxing break - and after all, the City is reachable by taxi within 10 minutes to conduct business if that is why you are there.
If I ever have one grumble with this hotel, it is the distinct lack of hot food in the Club Lounge during the evening. I have been told that it was a result of "aligning Club Lounges" however guys, you are the only one to withdraw hot food in the whole world!
Other IHG hotels in Dubai with Club Lounges provide a wide variety of hot canapes at dinner - just like IC DFC used to. It is much missed, and should be returned to service immediately to keep you World Class. [Less]
