Featured Elk Grove Hotels

Discover our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Elk Grove, California, a suburb of Sacramento. You'll soon be communing with the ghosts of California's past in the State Capitol and paddling down the calm waters of the American River.

Our hotels in Elk Grove are a short drive from Sacramento, the California state capital. Take a free guided tour of the gleaming-white Capitol Building or explore on your own. Displays show off each of California's varied counties-from the deserts of San Bernardino to the forests of Humboldt-and the Governor's portrait gallery provides a visual who's who in California politics. An impressionistic interpretation of 70s-era Jerry Brown looks all the more outrageous set among the modest portraits of Reagan and Schwarzenegger.

Kitschy souvenir shops in Old Town Sacramento's Gold Rush-era storefronts sell all manner of fool's gold, but guests of our Elk Grove hotels can find true treasures in weekly farmer's markets. Vendors sell a dizzying variety of juicy yellow, orange and red tomatoes, ripe strawberries and fresh-baked bread at Cesar Chavez Plaza and under the freeway near Southside Park. Steakhouses and Mexican restaurants near the Capitol Building keep California's politicians well-fed, while pubs and wine bars fill with state workers and bureaucrats at happy hour.

Stay in our Holiday Inn Express hotels in Elk Grove to explore the American and Sacramento rivers by boat, by train or by foot. With a rented raft or kayak, you can navigate a calm stretch of the American River near the city. A steam locomotive train departs Old Town during summer for a 6-mile scenic journey along the Sacramento River. Buy your tickets at the California State Railroad Museum. Or, guests of our Elk Grove hotels can simply enjoy the rushing water from the tree-shaded banks of the capital's riverside parks.

Always a great base to work from.
By navigator7
I travel for business and pleasure. This motel always serves as a great place to rest up for the next day's activities. I am always impressed by the entire staff, and am confident that they will [More] meet my travelling needs. I was especially impressed with the young lady who checked me in, as she had a very difficult customer prior to me. She displayed perfect professionalism! Hats off to her and the entire staff. [Less]

Great rooms close to the mall and other shopping. Quiet night stay. [Less]

Easy and comfortable. Pleasant, clean and up to date. [Less]
suite room huge.
By jjoy
The suite is huge with separate living area with sofa, table and 2 chairs, wet bar, frig, microwave and tv. The bathroom has large shower and Jacuzzi tub. The Jacuzzi tub jets did not do much, no [More] bubbles. the bedroom has king bed with 2 over sized chairs facing gas fireplace and tv. The only issue we had is that there was some kind of noisy fan/machine above the bathroom. We closed the bathroom door so we would not hear it all night. The room was on top floor. [Less]
Great location friendly Staff

This is on of the best Holiday Inn Express hotels that we have stayed in the Sacramento CVA area. [Less]
Staff handles difficulties with professionalism
By thatcyberchick
We were in town so I could attend a business meeting. Our first night was a nightmare due to neighbors with screaming children for most of the night. When we reported the issue, they staff [More] re-located us to an upgraded room at no extra charge. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The staff was professional, which I greatly appreciate. [Less]
Convenient and clean
By ajftuba
The whole place was clean and up-to-date and the bed was very comfortable. Pillows were labeled firm and soft which I thought was a nice touch. The only issues we had were a noisy toilet, we had to [More] turn off the water to it so we could sleep, and a bit of a noisy early morning from what sounded like garbage trucks picking up. Earplugs would have made it a perfect stay. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the comfortable room more. [Less]
nice rooms, free parking, continental breakfast and wi-fi
By davmom
I went there for a weekend with my daughter. The room was nice and comfortable with a mini fridge and coffee maker. Overall good experience but too much noise from the other rooms; unfortunately [More] there were 2 teams of small kids sports and the noise level during the night and early morning were annoying. I would definitely consider this hotel for my next few visits at Davis but as long as I get the third floor and possibly sleep with less noise from the rooms above. [Less]
Hotel Stay for Business
By DJR1981
Overall, I was very satisfied with my stay here. What I absolutely appreciated was having a Keurig coffee maker in my room, Bath and Body Works bathroom products, AND a TV that was bigger than the [More] standard 32"! What I didn't like: to use the blow dryer, you have to hold down a button the entire time you want to use it. NOT helpful when we're needing both hands to use the blow dryer to begin with. Also, the hotel room looked nice with a black mini fridge, a nice coffee maker...and then you throw in an old, white, small Sunbeam microwave? Not impressed with that. Let's talk about breakfast: the turkey sausage, and only sausage, was soooo dry! The bacon? It was extremely paper thin and tasteless as a result. After eating those two, I stuck to the eggs and Chobani yogurt. At least you offered the more expensive yogurt brand. Overall, a good hotel! [Less]
