I was initially put off by the area. It was the first time I'd been in this area of San Diego. Finding the hotel was easy-but dealing with the parking was a bit oft-putting. The garage entry is on
the next block over from the entrance. It was weird at first. Also, the garage is a tight fit. There is no room for error as you move through. It was obvious folks had scrapped the walls driving up the ramps.
The building (hotel and the garage) is aged and there was construction going on during my visit. Initially, I lowered my expectations. However I was surprised that over the course of my visit, I managed to feel quite comfortable and because of my schedule, I wasn't influenced by the construction at all.
The bathroom held quality supplies. Thank you! I was thrown off by the industrial commode though... But I can't complain. Everything worked...
Breakfast was reasonable. Choices for the main entrees were changed daily. The basics-oatmeal, cereals, toast, whole fruits and the cinnamon rolls-were always present. The staff continuously kept moving in fresh foods, keeping the frig filled with milk, yogurt.... Seating was plentiful and staff kept things quite clean and presentable.
Cookies (fresh) in the evening. Water and lemonade on tap, also there was coffee and tea available. I wasn't able to make the "Happy Hour"-but at least it was available.
Would I go back? Yes. For the price and I'd be curious to see what the newly constructed areas looked like. [Less]
