For an airport hotel, this was the quietest accommodation I've ever had - did not hear a single plane landing or taking off during my two night stay and am a very light sleeper. This was fabulous[More] and let me be well rested and fresh for an important business meeting after traveling across the country.[Less]
Quietest Airport Hotel ever
I was pleasantly surprised to actually stay at an airport hotel where the sound of planes landing and taking off could not be heard! Had 2 wonderful nights sleep, in a very quiet and spacious room.[More] Also enjoyed the restaurant on site - Hooligans, which was very good as well. I would definitely come back again.[Less]
This is a great hotel with great staff. The restaurant is OK. Gym is small.[Less]
above and beyond
absolutely great service in all areas, especially direct booking, head concierge, transportation service, wonderful food for room service.[Less]
We spent 8 nights here over Xmas and New Year. On the first day my son asked the concierge for a recommendation for a pizza restaurant and we were directed to Uncle Vito's two blocks away which was[More] excellent. We ate there most days. We tried the Top of the Mark bar once and while it was pleasant, it was far too crowded for us. Our Ambassador gift was a tin of chocolate drops which we enjoyed. The pre-Xmas cookies in the lobby were great. Pity there was no pool.[Less]
Location and view
Great historical hotel with very good rooms and excellent service[Less]
Friendly Staff and Good neighborhood
I stayed here for a couple of days in this hotel during January. The hotel room was clean, well-kept and warm enough for the weather. The breakfast is decent and the staff is very helpful and[More] friendly. I found the hotel to be close to BART station and Greyhound bus station and is surrounded by great eateries in Berkeley. The University is a bit far. There is great walking/cycling trail along the shoreline from which you can see the Golden gate bridge on clear days.[Less]
Visit to San Fran
The Berkley Holiday Inn Express was a comfortable place to land after a very long road trip through some very stormy weather. The entire front desk personnel were friendly and able to answer any[More] questions that we had during our two night stay.
The only issue that we came across was that the cabinets in our room were beginning to peel and show their age/wear.
Overall, the exterior of the hotel was well lit and welcoming and the rest of the hotel public common areas looked nice.[Less]
I recommended this hotel to anyone in the San Francisco area that truly wants a home away from home.[Less]
