Good, not great...
By CarlsbadTraveler
If you can handle NYC sized rooms at NYC prices, this place is great. We were stunned at how small the room was. Toilet and shower are practically the same space and with a dog in the room, gave us [More] almost zero room to maneuver. Our room was practically on top of the train tracks so our sleep quality was very low. It was incredibly noisy outside at night, which didn't help. [Less]

Everything here was better than expected, i stay in a lot of hotels for business and have become a little blah about everything they offer, but this hotel lived up to its word. great stay. [Less]
Great Weekend Get Away
By Franky
The location is so awesome with walking distance to beach, trail, wharf, wine-tasting rooms, train, and State Street crawl. Easy access to and from freeway to go to our hikes. Jogging along the [More] beach front each morning was pure joy. There were cute bikes to borrow for an afternoon ride. Something to be very aware, the rooms are really small by typical US standards. If you've stayed in Euro "tourist" class hotels, then you'll know what this is. Upon arrival they had some tasty fruity ice water which sadly disappeared the rest of the weekend. Also, note that they charge for parking. When coming in late at night there were few options, but a bit of a nickel and dime surprise given the price of the stay. Also learned through the survey, I was supposed to receive some kind of IHG gift, which I didn't see nor hear about. Location is convenient and was expected to be loud for close to a lot of action. Wasn't expecting the thin walls and hear neighboring room snoring all night. The hotel supplies earplugs along with the bathroom goodies to help. I'd stay here again if it were just a bit less, but it was a last minute trip that was worth it. [Less]
Great location

Great location, cool remodel of an older building, parking is a challenge. Will stay again. [Less]
Two bed room
By Hawk
This hotel is nice. It is an old building. I do love the architecture of the building period our room was decent but the beds are very small. They are crammed up against the wall and window and hard [More] to get in and out of when you have two people in the bed. The parking is atrocious. They don't have enough parking for all of their guests so they charge valet parking of $16. They then drive your car and double-park it at night while you're sleeping so they can fit everybody in. Don't feel that they should charge valet parking because they don't have a big enough parking lot for all of their guests. It is close to State Street which is nice. [Less]

Pet friendly
By Doglovers
This hotel was great for me and my pets. Was able to walk them outside when needed. The hotel provided doggy bags at the doors for your use when needed. Only downfall of the night was late comers to [More] the hotel which were loud and made made my dogs bark in the middle of the night as well as ither dogs mear by. [Less]
Good value hotel
By Zero
Stay with my family with total 5 members for one room. Fortunately, room is spacious; it is comfortable to fit 5 people. Breakfast is complimentary; not many choices while enough for general purpose. [More] My 4-year-old son likes the pool very much. There is a pool which is not deep and good for kids; the other SPA pool is also nice. Overall, we do like this hotel and their nice staff; especially, the cost performance at this season is good by this hotel. Definitely I would like to come again if there is a chance in the future.
