This is a pretty solid Crowne Plaza. A number of the CP locations I have been to are pretty outdated, but this one seemed to be a little more "with the times" than others. It's a great location near
downtown, and walking distance from a lot of restaurants (hope you like Greek food, there is a TON nearby!).
The restaurant was great for breakfast, and the room was decently sized, with a balcony to enjoy! The sliding door kept out the noise of the city pretty well, I should add. One major downside to my room (and possibly others) is the awful placement of power outlets. There are some built into the desk, but there aren't any near the beds. I know this is more difficult to pull off in established buildings due to wiring, but I'd imagine in the 21st century there would be more emphasis on things like power outlet convenience and WiFi (a huge issue for most IHG properties... this location had ok WiFi, however).
Check in was the only noticeable hiccup at this location. I went to the location at the front desk with the "Priority Check-In" sign, and was ignored completely by the employee at the desk. Upon finally getting his attention, he just kind of muttered "Oh I gotta get this..." or something along those lines. They had some sort of event happening downstairs at the hotel and selling tickets, but I would imagine checking in guests would be a higher priority. Had to wait in line, which fortunately moved quickly, but brings up the question of why even have a "Priority Check-In" offering at all when it is so awfully inconsistent at every IHG location, and employees seem to be completely unaware of the offering.
Overall, a solid stay. Good restaurant, good views, good rooms. [Less]
