This was my second stay in a month at the hotel. I was back with my daughter and two grandsons in a suite as we were in South Bend for my mother's memorial service on March 24th. Check-in went fine.
The room was spacious and comfortable. In the bathroom we only had one washcloth, 2 hand towels and 2 bath towels--for four people. We stopped at the desk to get more towels-- four bath towels, no more wash cloths or hand towels were delivered to our room. When we were on our way to the pool that evening with the grandsons, we were going to ask for wash cloths. There was a sign on the desk that they were busy with another customer. No one in sight. Stopped on our way back to our room, 45 minutes later, still no one on duty. Daughter got more wash cloths in the morning after we had breakfast. The breakfast food was not replenished and they were running out of the hot food. What we did get was fine. Also, there was dried mud on the floors again of the common area from workmen that were staying there. This happened the first time I was there also.
We also had to ask for bedding for the pull-out couch as there was none in the room. And there was a drawer with a handful of loose change. Obviously had not been checked since the customer prior to us renting the room. Almost forgot, Sunday when we returned from the memorial service, meal, and time with family, our room had not been made up. We had told housekeeping when they came to the door we would be out in half an hour, and obviously never returned. The hotel was not full.
We did have quiet and parking was fine. The boys enjoyed the swimming pool very much and there were generous hours to use it. Towels were provided down there but wet towels were not always cleared away.
I think the newness of the property may be part of the problems we encountered and the management needs to be more alert to the staff and their quality of work. [Less]
