Featured Prince Frederick Hotels

Discover our hotels in Prince Frederick, Maryland, near the sandy shores of Chesapeake Bay. In no time you'll be digging for fossils along the bay beaches and cracking into spicy steamed crabs.

Our hotels in Prince Frederick make it easy to explore the beaches of Chesapeake Bay. The seaside bluffs at Calvert Cliffs State Park are packed with prehistoric fossils like shark's teeth and crustacean shells. Beachcombers can search for fossils that occasionally wash up on shore. A short drive farther south from our Prince Frederick hotels is the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomons, where you can examine a collection of the cliffs' most impressive fossils. The museum's Drum Point Lighthouse is one of Maryland's last remaining screw-pile lighthouses. A quick museum shuttle-bus ride connects to Cove Point, where a classic stark-white 19th-century lighthouse still guides ships through the night.

Guests of our Prince Frederick hotels will have little trouble finding crab houses and oyster shacks up and down Chesapeake Bay and in the tiny fishing village of Solomons. Order steamed crabs, here cooked the traditional way-in a big pot of boiling water seasoned with Old Bay spices. With mallet in hand, you break open the bright red shell to extract the sweet white meat. Wash it all down with an icy mug of beer. Savor raw oysters on the half shell, fried oysters with a squeeze of lemon or classic Maryland crab cakes.

Stay in one of our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Prince Frederick and take to the bay waters by boat. Chesapeake Beach harbor is home to the bay's largest fleet of charter boats. Fishing trips pull in rockfish, croaker and bluefish. Sightseeing tours of Solomons' harbor leave from the Calvert Marine Museum aboard the Wm. B. Tennison, an 1899 log bugeye built for oyster dredging.

Awesome
By BridgetJ
Where do I begin? There are so many to credit for this awesome stay! First, Teji - I spoke with him to set up a surprise party for my brother in law's fiancé (she got engaged while at the party). His [More] customer service was the absolute best!!!! He communicated clearly and took care of the room set up for us. Next there was Kelly, she reached me when she noticed I'd reserved several rooms. She made sure that everyone who had a room got it based on my reservations for them. She left me in good hands on the day of check in. Dana was awesome as where so many others, I just don't remember everyone's names. From the maintenance guy to the kitchen folks, the experience was AWESOME!!! All of the guests who stayed raved about the hotel. My daughter said "Holiday Inn" has certainly stepped up their game!!! The hotel was awesome, the décor was awesome, the bed was AWESOME, the rooms were awesome....everything about my experience was just that.....AWESOME!!!! Thank you to the California Md/Lexington Park staff for making this a memorable experience!!!!! [Less]

Two main reasons to stay here over the other hotels... the people (front desk, housekeeping, maintenance staff, [Less]

Beds and noise

These beds are by no means comfortable. A few more pillows would be nice. With the fire house right nexr door and the highway traffic noise all night long, it made a good nights sleep hard to get. [Less]
