Motor City, Motown, Hockeytown, the Big D - whatever you want to call it, Detroit is one of the Midwest's oldest and most flavorful cities. While many think of it as the automobile capital of the world, you'll also be astounded by all the exciting attractions, shopping, dining and cultural opportunities near our Holiday Inn Express® Detroit hotels.
Kick off your Detroit hotel stay with a tour of historic Midtown, where you'll find several prominent museums, including the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Detroit Historical Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art. Interactive exhibits, a planetarium, and a special domed IMAX theatre make the Detroit Science Center an ideal destination for families or just the young at heart, while sports fans will want to catch a game at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, or Ford Field, where the Detroit Lions play.
Prefer an evening of culture to a day at the ball park? The Detroit Theatre District hosts many Broadway performances; in fact, it's the second-largest theatre district in America. Our Detroit hotels are also near a bevy of historic sites like the Fox Theatre, Detroit Opera House and the Henry Ford in Dearborn, where you can learn about Michigan's rich automotive past while perusing its amazing exhibits. Get a glimpse of the future of automobiles with the annual North American International Detroit Auto Show in January.
If you're visiting our hotels in Detroit during the warmer months, check out Belle Isle Park.
