Minneapolis is the political, cultural and economic capital of the upper Midwest. As one half of Minnesota's Twin Cities, it offers guests a wide array of shops, restaurants and cultural pursuits during their Minneapolis hotel stay. Whether you're in town for business or leisure, Holiday Inn Express® Hotels' spacious guest suites and top-notch amenities make it easy to settle in, and with locations near the Minneapolis St. Paul International airport, Minneapolis Convention Center and major shopping and entertainment districts, you can choose the Minneapolis hotel that's right for your travel needs.
Downtown Minneapolis houses the city's central business district and its popular theatre and nightlife districts, making it an ideal choice for business travelers. You'll also find the majority of the city's sports venues here, including Target Arena, stomping grounds for both the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Lynx (WNBA). Guests of our downtown Minneapolis hotels will find the Skyway is a convenient means to get around the city, especially in the harsh Minneapolis winters. This climate-controlled system of pedestrian bridges connects Nicolette Mall, the Block E Entertainment district, Target Center and Minneapolis Convention Center - so you can enjoy the big game, do a little shopping, then finish up with dinner and drinks along Hennepin Avenue - without ever stepping foot outside.
Of course, part of Minneapolis's charm is its natural beauty, and guests of our Minneapolis hotels will definitely want to get out and explore the area's endless lakes and park spaces during the warmer months. The Chain of Lakes is popular with residents and tourists alike, while the beautiful waterfalls and limestone bluffs of Minnehaha Park make it an ideal spot for a hike. There's even a dog park, so if you're staying at one of our pet friendly Minneapolis hotels, you'll be pleased to know there's something for everyone in this town.
Round out your Minneapolis tour with a trip to the bohemian West Bank. This neighborhood offers eclectic shops, colorful bookstores, international restaurants and a bustling independent theatre and art scene. After the sun sets, make your way back downtown to enjoy the city's lively nightlife. Minneapolis boasts a variety of pubs, clubs and watering holes up and down the main strip, including the legendary First Avenue nightclub (scenes from Purple Rain were filmed here) and Dakota Jazz Club.
I spend 6-10 nights a month at this hotel and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly too![Less]
Our favorite hotel in the Twin Cities area
We love this hotel and look forward to returning each year for a convention. The staff is wonderful and so is the food. The room is clean and comfortable and we love the unique decor throughout. We[More] always feel a little sad when it's time to leave.[Less]
Wonderful Staff with a Peaceful Setting
My son and I were treated wonderfully. It was hard to believe how quiet the rooms and hall were with so many people at the hotel. Wonderful design.[Less]
Dining at the breakfast bar at the restaurant was most often disappointing. Though the Service was great the food at the bar was poor at the least. The scrambled gas were cold and most often the[More] breads were dried out. As for making a slice of toast or toasting a bagel, I could finish my breakfast before the toast got done. The only part of the breakfast bar which I found tasty was the fruit section. During the week I was able to take benefit of my Spire membership at eat breakfast in the executive lounge. It was here I found the service and the food to be far better than the restaurant breakfast bar of the weekends.
I often had to eat dinner in the bar/lounge. Here the food was adequate but the service time was unacceptable. Several times I had business quests and was under a time crunch and we had to cobble food in order to make our next meetings.[Less]
Bar staff was great. Very welcoming! I thought that they went out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I thought the seating could have been more comfortable.[Less]
