Valentine's Day is always madness, so I made reservations for my wife and I in the Honeymoon Suite at this hotel. The red, heart-shaped jet tub was the selling point for me. Outdoor impression was
solid - nice, looking place. First impression inside was not as stellar - associate at the front desk was leaning against the wall on the phone with a guest (potential or current, I couldn't tell) - clearly not enjoying the call or his shift. He ended up helping me check in, but did not acknowledge my IHG status or review my room stay (I was worried I didn't get the suite I paid for). I'm not a status person, but I know they typically at least say something.
Lobby was nice, though. Pool looked popular and in good condition. My wife said the fitness center looked good, too.
Our room was huge. Full-size kitchen, fireplace, huge bathroom (with that jetted tub), and very spacious bedroom.
Lowlights: peeling wallpaper in several spots, repainted drain area in red sweetheart tub didn't exactly match the original tub's color, shelf above tub used to hold a TV or electronics and was now blank and empty (put a plant there or something), no light switch in bedroom (no kidding. It was one of those blank faceplates with no motion sensor, we had to fiddle around on the closest lamp to get some light), and the liner on the bed was very noisy (plastic; maybe for bed bug protection or liquids?).
Highlights: huge kitchen with full-size fridge was nice, two separate HVAC controls for the areas of the sweet, fireplace worked great!, comfy couch, light-blocking blinds were great, pillows are super comfy, jets in tub worked great, lots of toiletries.
Bonus: it had iced overnight and the front desk had loaner ice scrapers available. :)
Breakfast was great. Lots of variety. Everything was fresh. Well-stocked and kept that way.
I'd probably stay again but maybe not in the honeymoon suite. [Less]
