I'm getting used to the consistency of excellence I've experienced at Holiday Inn in particular related to my IHG membership program. I'm greeted with acknowledgement of that membership, often
upgraded to a better room, and find clean facilities, excellent amenities, and an overall great experience.
The one ding in my experience here was an apparent non-working TV remote. It took three trips to the service desk to resolve the problem only to learn that - unlike other Holiday Inns I had stayed out previously - the sensor for the remote was located on recessed receiver unit two shelves down from where the TV was located. So pointing the remote at the TV turned it on? But didn't change the channel. Granted, as an IT guy, I should have figured this out before the multiple trips to the front desk (one was necessary however because the remote batteries were dead) but if there had been some type of notation about this requirement in the room - or if the staff member had mentioned that possibility - the problem would have been resolved sooner. Just a hiccup however, in my overall excellent experience at this Holiday Inn. [Less]
