Spring Break Visit
By grammy
My daughters and their children have been making a trip to Portland during Spring Break for several years now. This year the places we had stayed at before were all full.. We made reservations at [More] the Holiday Inn Express as a last resort. The problem was that we travel by train so do not have transportation in Portland and I was worried about the distance to the downtown area. Well, we loved our stay at the Holiday Inn. Because Portland has such wonderful public transportation, getting around was not the problem I was concerned about. The kids loved the pool. The rooms were great. The breakfast was super (the woman in the breakfast room was so nice and really did her job well). We all agreed we want to return next year. [Less]

A couple opportunities for improvement
By eurovin
Only two areas were a disappointment: While the overall breakfast offered was, as I mentioned, above average, the coffee was absolutely horrible, to the point I had to escape down the street to [More] Starbuck's. And glasses instead of plastic cups in the room would have been appreciated. [Less]
