I've stayed at a few Staybridge Suites and have had very good experiences. The rooms are usually quite comfortable and spacious, and the on-site amenities are useful, especially for longer-term
stays. This one was similar, and I appreciated the free guest laundry and the nice social spaces like the outdoor fire pit (though the TV in the lobby was turned up way too loud).
The thing that ruined this hotel for me was the unprofessional staff attitude. The woman who checked us in was not helpful at all. Yes, she was clearly overworked and had a line of people trying to check in and phones ringing off the hook, but that's no excuse to have a loud, rude conversation with the guy in line in front of me. Then, when I asked about a room with 2 beds (to save me from having to sleep on the sofa bed), she said they were sold out. That was untrue, because 10 minutes later, I went on the Staybridge website itself and it still had rooms with 2 beds available for new reservations. I tried to move rooms again after seeing that and she didn't even look in the computer and just said nothing was available. That kind of attitude and unprofessional behavior from a front desk clerk is inexcusable. I expect that at a low-end budget brand, but not at an IHG property and especially one of the higher-end brands like Staybridge. [Less]
