We drove over 11k miles on our road trip around the USA - and stayed in many a Holiday Inn Express... but this one surpassed them all!
Not for luxury - that was the usual “good” standard with
Holiday Inns - but the staff were all friendly and happy, and LOTS of effort had been put into making this into a themed country hotel rather than the usual bland motel!
Stuffed animals tastefully adorned the reception...
And pictures and lamp shades throughout kept the theme, and really made us feel as though the management cared about our enjoying our stay.
All this must have cost them a lot of money - and speaks of their willingness to poke back profits into making their hotel better for the customer rather than just milking the cash-cow.
I loved the fact that we were warned when breakfast would stop being served... and then asked if we wanted anything before they closed...
But then to see all the cleaning staff being allowed to come and help themselves to the leftovers speaks of a management that cares for its staff! Congratulations to whoever is at the top!
I asked one member of the cleaning staff who treated us so kindly about the atmosphere and she immediately replied that they are one big family.
Wish we could come back... and wish the owners would set up a hotel in London! [Less]
