Featured North Charleston Hotels

Experience the antebellum charm of Historic Charleston when you stay in our Holiday Inn Express® North Charleston hotels. Wander cobblestoned streets past mansions and perfumed gardens, and sample briny oysters in one of the city's casual, welcoming oyster bars.

Our hotels in North Charleston, South Carolina, are close to the city's historic district and Low Country plantations. Book a stay in our North Charleston hotels to visit Fort Sumter, where the first shot of the Civil War was fired in 1861. The fort's serene harbor-side setting belies its volatile past, with ornate mansions in pastel hues opposite. One of the most atmospheric and economical ways to take in the sheer volume of the city's historic architecture is on a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride. To get a real feel for plantation life, 1800s-style, head outside the city limits to Boone Hall Plantation. The plantation's moss-draped Avenue of Oaks starred in background shots in "Gone with the Wind."

Taste the bounty of the Low Country when you stay in our North Charleston hotels, whether she-crab soup, sausage and shrimp perloo (with rice) or hoppin' John (seasoned rice and peas). Many restaurants have regular cool-weather oyster roasts, where juicy oysters are cooked over an open fire until they sizzle and pop. North Charleston is a shopping mecca; bargain hunters can head out from our North Charleston hotels to outlets like nearby Tanger Outlet Center. The North Charleston Coliseum is the city's top venue for musical performances and Broadway shows.

Book a stay at our North Charleston hotels and fall in love with this South Carolina coastal city, cobblestoned and scented with jasmine and looking much like it did two centuries ago.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.....Construction next door affected the ability to use the balcony and the comfort of opening the window drapes due to men working outside [Less]
Great Charleston location
By Andrea
We enjoyed our stay at your hotel. The location was great. The trolley stop across the street was very convenient, and the proximity to the Charleston Visitor's Center was perfect. The people who [More] work at the hotel were always polite and helpful. As a group of 3 friends, we really appreciated being able to get 2 beds and a roll-away. Our trip was affordable for us since we could share 1 room. I do have a suggestion; an express breakfast would have been nice. (After all, you are called Holiday Inn EXPRESS) Our choices at the hotel were the buffet (what woman eats $13 worth of food in the morning??) or ordering off of the menu (charges for every little thing, and time spent sitting at a table, waiting to order, etc.). Many hotels offer coffee, juice, yogurt, boiled eggs, cereal, milk....cheap but quick stuff...as self serve, and it comes with the room. We wandered around Charleston and found breakfast for ourselves. We would have preferred that kind of option!! [Less]
Great service and location
By Ashlyn
The staff was always friendly and helpful, including the office, valet, cleaning crew, and restaurant waitresses. They enjoyed chatting with us and giving us Charleston ideas. They made us feel that [More] anything we needed, they were here to help! Also, the location was perfect. You can walk down and enjoy every part of King St, instead of just the main touristy section. The only problem we encountered was the Wifi did not work from our room, but the office immediately said they'd be glad to switch us to another room if we'd prefer. We can't wait to come back to this hotel and hope every Holiday Inn is as great of an experience! [Less]
Perfect

Very clean hotel, free shuttle within 5 min of hotel that goes 24 hours, excellent staff, safe and clean. Great breakfast variety, with pool, hot tub and fitness center. I was very impressed and look [More] forward to going back. [Less]
Staff with a smile

Clean room, helpful, friendly staff who greet you with a smile upon arrival. This was nice after hours on the road. This Holiday in very convenient to my business location which is also great. I have [More] stayed here before and will stay again. [Less]
Excellent lobby, breakfast needs work
By taki98
I always enjoy my stay at Holiday Day Inn Express. I usually pick them for the great convenient breakfast. But, the breakfast here needed work. It is unfortunate when at 8 a.m. you run out of [More] items and the staff is unable to replace. The lobby was gorgeous and I appreciate the new décor. [Less]

great service
By Bill
For the price, the room was fine. Beds were comfortable. Would be nice to have a chair in the room so as not to have to just sit in the bed. There was so much construction, the roads to the hotel, [More] which made getting to the hotel and parking confusing. There is also a major complex being built next door. Amazingly, the rooms were quite and the construction noise was not an issue as it started very early each morning. And the staff was great. Like I said,we got pretty good rates on our room, but I would look for a better option due to the construction. [Less]
Just one night
By FlyingTrooper
My stay was for one night without my family for business. I only stayed at this property for that reason. I have previously passed on this property due to its appearance from the roadway. Since it [More] was just me, I figured I would give it a try and see how it actually was. I was very pleased, surprised even. It is a much better property than even other near by Holiday Inn properties that I have experienced in recent past. I will return to this property with the family for sure, as well as for other business trips. [Less]
