Featured North Charleston Hotels

Experience the antebellum charm of Historic Charleston when you stay in our Holiday Inn Express® North Charleston hotels. Wander cobblestoned streets past mansions and perfumed gardens, and sample briny oysters in one of the city's casual, welcoming oyster bars.

Our hotels in North Charleston, South Carolina, are close to the city's historic district and Low Country plantations. Book a stay in our North Charleston hotels to visit Fort Sumter, where the first shot of the Civil War was fired in 1861. The fort's serene harbor-side setting belies its volatile past, with ornate mansions in pastel hues opposite. One of the most atmospheric and economical ways to take in the sheer volume of the city's historic architecture is on a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride. To get a real feel for plantation life, 1800s-style, head outside the city limits to Boone Hall Plantation. The plantation's moss-draped Avenue of Oaks starred in background shots in "Gone with the Wind."

Taste the bounty of the Low Country when you stay in our North Charleston hotels, whether she-crab soup, sausage and shrimp perloo (with rice) or hoppin' John (seasoned rice and peas). Many restaurants have regular cool-weather oyster roasts, where juicy oysters are cooked over an open fire until they sizzle and pop. North Charleston is a shopping mecca; bargain hunters can head out from our North Charleston hotels to outlets like nearby Tanger Outlet Center. The North Charleston Coliseum is the city's top venue for musical performances and Broadway shows.

Book a stay at our North Charleston hotels and fall in love with this South Carolina coastal city, cobblestoned and scented with jasmine and looking much like it did two centuries ago.

Latest North Charleston Hotel Reviews

Hotel was under renovation
By Alaska Chick
Our guest room was great, although you could tell they had just that day done some construction work in the room. Everything was so new it still had sheetrock dust in places. The halls were taped off [More] in places and the dining room was closed. For our purposes of sleeping and showering we were very satisfied but for eating breakfast, etc, it wasn't ready for guests from what we could tell. I'm sure that soon it will be like new and be awesome. I'd check it out next time I stay in the area. Front desk gal was a hooot! Loved her - she made the place feel very welcoming. [Less]

Surprised on the upside
By Joe Blow
The things I remember most were (1) the excellent quality and variety of the items available for the complementary breakfast and the courtesy and efficiency of the breakfast staff and (2) the [More] thoughtfulness of management in providing a vending machine for the use of those (like me) who forgot to bring a cell phone charger. this hotel is the best value in Charleston.
By Kerl Katinas
I always stay at the Holiday Inn Historic Charleston. The only issue I have is the ongoing construction around the immediate hotel area. This has nothing to do with the hotel, but I will sure be glad [More] when it is completed! [Less]

By Russell ERS
My profession takes me all over the country.I always try to stay in an IHG property because if their consistency, however this hotel stands apart. The rooms are consistent with others, but Justin and [More] the rest of the staff make the difference. They truly understand customer service. [Less]
