Relax at our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Chattanooga. Dine overlooking the Tennessee River in the Bluff View Art District, or photograph a thundering waterfall deep inside Lookout Mountain.

Our Chattanooga hotels put you near the Tennessee Aquarium, the world's largest freshwater aquarium, home to toothy sharks, bobbing seahorses and rambunctious river otters. Glide past downtown Chattanooga on a leisurely trip aboard the Southern Belle Riverboat, with the moss-backed Appalachian hills in the distance. Or take a quick drive from our hotels in Chattanooga to the galleries in the Hunter Museum of American Art, set atop a scenic 80-foot bluff. The museum's impressive collection of paintings and sculpture revisits Chattanooga's riverfront past and present; admission is free the first Sunday of every month.

It's a short drive from our Chattanooga hotels to the city's most popular Appalachian attractions. Zip to the top of Lookout Mountain via the Incline Railway, the world's steepest passenger train. Or journey deep inside the mountain to see Ruby Falls, a 145-foot underground waterfall. When it's time for dinner, head to the relaxed cafes and trendy fusion restaurants in the Bluff View Art District, or drop into one of the popular local barbecue joints for hickory-smoked ribs or savory pulled-pork platters. On summer evenings, join the locals and linger over golden-hued Tennessee whiskey in the district's sidewalk cafes before returning to our Chattanooga hotels.

Stay at our Holiday Inn Express hotels in Chattanooga to discover this four-season Appalachian getaway for yourself. Take a vintage train ride through the flowering Appalachians in spring. In summer, bands fill the Tennessee riverfront with music at the 9-day Riverbend Festival.

Great hotel for the price
By Jenny
Everyone was friendly. We liked that the children ate free. The room was a nice size, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Our whole [More] family, two adults and two children, enjoyed our stay. The only drawback was that you had to valet your car. It wasn't an option. [Less]
location was great

We could leave the hotel and enjoy downtown and the surrounding restaurants. [Less]
Enjoyable stay
By Elizabeth50
My husband and I had an enjoyable anniversary weekend here recently. We had a corner king suite, with the sliding door separating the sleeping area from the living area. This was a nice concept [More] since you're able to have one big area during the day, but when he wanted to keep the light on and read after I went to bed we could close it and keep out the light. Might not work as great if you want more of a noise barrier though. Loved all the big windows in the corner room. The double shades with chains were nice, although we could hear our neighbors opening and closing theirs and I'm sure they could hear ours. There is some potential for problems with both the shades and sliding door, so I hope they keep an eye and keep them in working order. We didn't eat at the hotel, but there were plenty of places in 2-4 blocks to walk to. We loved the location and there being so many places to walk to for enjoyment and entertainment. We didn't use the free Chattanooga bus but that's a nice perk of the town. We loved Chattanooga. My suggestions for this hotel would be to have 2 people at the front desk instead of just 1 (the second could be performing other duties when not needed), and they then might have time to be more welcoming and promoting the Chattanooga area. When I asked for a small map of downtown, I was told that (whatever the city travel bureau is called) hadn't gotten any to them yet. How hard would it be for the hotel to keep one and make copies? There are other hotels a bit closer to the action, but for the price difference this was a good choice, as long as walking another block or two is ok with you. We did enjoy our stay and were able to relax. [Less]
