Featured Alexandria Hotels

Make yourself at home in our hotels in Alexandria, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. You'll soon be tracing American history in Old Town and feasting on George Washington's favorite meal at Gadsby's Tavern.

Guests of our hotels in Alexandria take to the streets in true colonial fashion-on foot. Stroll the residential blocks north and south of King Street, down cobblestone lanes lined with Federal-style homes. In a day's wandering you'll pass Robert E. Lee's childhood home, George Washington's house of prayer at Christ Church and the Carlyle House, setting for intense negotiations over taxation between British officials and colonial governors. The Alexandria Black History Museum celebrates the contributions of African Americans toward the growth of the city. Pick up a free walking-tour pamphlet here of the city's historical African American landmarks.

Local artisans blow glass, spin pottery and invite the curious to watch in open studios at the Torpedo Factory. King Street's turn-of-the-century brick storefronts are now high-end boutiques and antique shops. Guests of our Alexandria hotels will find a variety of cuisines to choose from along King Street, though the kiosks and stalls of the Torpedo Factory Food Pavilion easily satisfy with pizza slices, cheese-stuffed Salvadoran corn cakes and freshly blended smoothies. Gadsby's Tavern has been sating the appetites of Alexandrians with hearty steaks and shepherd's pie since the late 1700s. Legend has it that George Washington's favorite dish was Gadsbys' succulent roast duck.

Stay in our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Alexandria to explore American history. Our Alexandria hotels are a short drive from Mount Vernon, the beloved home of George and Martha Washington. A quick Metro ride from Alexandria drops you within walking distance of the United States Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial in the nation's capital.

The staff and room were excellent. We were given a room on the 1st floor so that my wife who is handicapped could have an easier time getting in and out. The fact that there was coffee and fruit [More] available late was also appreciated. Will stay here on our next visit. [Less]
Nice Place

This Holiday Inn is right off of the Interstate (not noisy) and just down the road from a ton of excellent restaurants (both local and chain). The hotel itself was in great condition, nice little [More] lobby. Had a hotel, hot tub, work out room, and 2 computers to use. Computers were in a hallway, with no privacy, so may be a little awkward to use if doing anything other than trying to check into your next flight. Breakfast had the standard Holiday Inn Express buffet. Decently stocked, but not great quality food. [Less]
