Guests of our hotels in Lynchburg can begin exploring from the foot of Monument Terrace in the Court House Hill District. As you climb the staircase, the Greek columns of the 1855 Old Court House, now the Lynchburg Museum, rise into view. Simple museum displays of tobacco harvesting tools and photographs detail the city's 300 years of history. A 19th-century warehouse enjoys a vibrant new life as Riverview Artspace. Succulent fuzzy peaches and juicy apples sold by farmers at downtown's Community Market are perfect snacks for a day of walking Lynchburg's historic streets. Virginian artisans sell handmade pottery and intricate baskets in the adjacent crafts market. Guests of our hotels in Lynchburg enjoy dining in downtown steakhouses and bistros in historic 200-year-old buildings. Sample Virginia wines when you dine and locally brewed beers at downtown pubs.

At Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest country villa, you can watch engineers and archeologists unearth artifacts from the gardens and restore Jefferson's architectural masterpiece to its 1800s appearance. At Appomattox Court House National Historic Park, visit the McLean house where Ulysses S. Grant negotiated the end of the Civil War with Robert E. Lee.

Will stay here again!

Overall, our stay at the Lynchburg, VA, location was very comfortable. The room was spacious, the bed and pillows made for a good night's sleep, and the bathroom was very clean! My only reason [More] for not giving this hotel an overall Excellent rating was the front desk employee who appeared irritated, did not smile once, and was annoyed when I returned after a few minutes to advise that our two room keys were not working. Our breakfast experience though the following day was amazing. Our server, LaShauna, couldn't have been more accommodating. She also had a sunny disposition that indicated a high level of job satisfaction. [Less]
