Pros: We always appreciate having to check in a couple hours early as we can never predict the traffic on our way to the hotel. The staff who tended to us over the phone was very accommodating and
Pros: We always appreciate having the option to check out late with no additional fees as sometimes, work trainings and/or conferences would last a little longer than anticipated for.
Pros: We like that the bathroom has a new feature; one of the outlets has a built in night light inside the outlet. This prevented us from walking in the dark on our way to the bathroom. Small details sometimes can make a big difference.
Pros: The breakfast buffet is one of the greatest amenities you will find staying at The Holiday Inn Express Lacey branch. They have varieties of breakfast to choose from. From scrambled eggs, egg white omelet, varieties of bagels, muffins, bread, pancake machine, fresh fruits, bacon, biscuits and gravy, hot or cold cereal, different types of yogurts, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, fat free and 2% milk, or soy milk, fruit juices, coffee, and chocolate drinks, etc. You name it, they probably have it! It is always best practices to start your day with a hefty breakfast; puts customers in a great mood. Simple gestures, big outcome!
Pros: Customer appreciation snack bars are great pick me ups specially after a long days of attending trainings and/or conferences. They serve artichoke, hummus, and salsa dips, premium crackers and chips, varieties of cheeses, salami, and the bottomless cookies after. They also serve beverages such as Sprite, Coca Cola, wine, beers, etc. Although most staff were friendly and made our stay comfortable, there's always one that would stand out from the crowd. Kitchen staff "Marianne" was accommodating, had great people skills, implemented the utmost hospitable gestures with us during our entire stay. Marianne deserves this acknowledgment as she was very helpful in tending to my wife's needs whose a recent cancer survivor. Marianne exceeded our expectations and my wife never felt comfortable staying at a hotel. Keep up the good work hiring personable folks like Marianne!
One constructive criticism: We wish that we didn't have to re-affirm the type of credit card needed to be on file/authorized during our stay. When I checked in, I handed my wife's credit card, but the day staff didn't accept it as she claimed that the credit card on file must be under my name and not my wife's even though we have the same last name. Assuming this happened because she was not physically with me when I checked in. My wife and I had to re-verify this policy at the end of the day. She handed her credit card and the evening staff was able to change credit card authorization just fine. Safety may be an issue in this situation, but I wish the day staff could've explained further why this was an issue in their end as this was never an issue before whenever we would stay at other Holiday Inn Express locations and given the fact that this is not the first time we've stayed in this location.
Overall the stay was great, We recommend this location. The price was reasonable and the amenities exceeded our expectations every time. [Less]
