My daughter had a baby shower at the hotel this past Saturday and my husband and I were in charge of the decorations. We made a reservation to stay at the hotel on Friday night so we could get up and
start decorating early. The weather decided not to cooperate. It snowed and was icy all day Friday. Since we had already missed the cancellation policy deadline, I called the hotel to see if it would even be possible to cancel or change the reservation. Tim was very helpful and agreed to move our reservation from Friday night to Saturday night.
We arrived at the hotel Saturday morning around 8am. Tim greeted us at the door and told us he was already working on getting the meeting room set up for us. He let us move all of our decorations in and start the process immediately. He was very accommodating with moving tables and supplying and/or removing various items from the room to make our daughter's day special.
We finished with the decorationing around 10:30am. The baby shower wasn't until 2pm. We asked, hoping on an outside chance, if we might be able to check into our room (very) early. Once again, Tim came through for us. When we asked, he said he had already changed our reservation to a clean room and we could check in now. It was incredibly helpful to be able to go to the room to get cleaned up and be able to rest a bit before the rest of our family and friends showed up for the baby shower.
Tim went out of his way to make our weekend more enjoyable and stress free. If it was possible to say yes, Tim said, "Yes" or "I'm already working on it", or "I have already done that for you."
After the baby shower was over and the guests had all left, my husband and I got to enjoy the rest of our evening by going out to dinner and relaxing in our comfy room - a great added bonus.
I don't think we have ever stayed at a Holiday Inn Express hotel before - but if all of the staff is as helpful and friendly as Morning manager, Tim, we will definitely be staying more often. [Less]
