The groundbreaking for the historic Madison County Courthouse was over 100 years ago, but the building still retains all of its beauty and stateliness. The square is home to Canton’s world famous Flea Market in May and October.

The Historic Train Depot and Museum was formerly a stop on the Illinois Central Railroad Company line. This depot has been converted into a museum chronicling the commerce and industry surrounding Canton’s long history with the railroad.

The Multicultural Center and Museum is located just a few miles from our Canton hotel and is a great place to see how local people from Canton have gone on to affect the world. The permanent exhibit shows many Canton residents’ struggle for civil rights.

Christmas is a great time to visit Canton. From November to December, Canton puts on the Victorian Christmas festival, which features a grand display of Christmas pageantry that includes over 200,000 lights.
