Spanning 2,375 feet with a height of 240 feet, the Tunkhannock Viaduct is truly a sight to see. This magnificent concrete bridge was part of the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad and was built in the town of Nicholson, PA, just 12 miles from our Gibson hotel. Compare this structure to the Starucca Viaduct built in nearby Lanesboro, PA made from PA bluestone it was erected in 1847 against all odds!

Hit the slopes at Elk Mountain Ski Resort in Uniondale, PA! We're a great place to stay when you're ready to tackle any of the resort's 27 ski trails, 40% of which are daring Black Diamonds! Seeking more adventure? Kayak, hunt, fish or hike alongside the beautiful Susquehanna River! There's even a 122 acre paintball park, just minutes away!

Whether you're here for work or are just traveling through; the area's weather provides many options for outdoor adventure. The summer months are enjoyable in the low 80s, perfect hiking, fishing or boating on the river! However, the winter months see much colder temps and precipitation, which is great when you want to hit the slopes or go for a brisk run through the countryside!
