Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by James Lo New hotel, comfy bed and excellent location
I stayed here only for a night. As always, the bed at Holiday Inn Express does not disappoint. I was quite surprised to see the size of the room as well as the existence of a terrace, quite a rare sight at Holiday Inn Express property. However, the check-out was rather inefficient. While there were 3 staff at the reception, they seemed confused and sort of ignored me initially.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by virtualaris Good new property but no IHG Platinum Recognition
Stayed here during opening. There were only 7 rooms occupied on that time and I was told that they don't have policy to upgrade IHG Platinum member eventhough the Suite room was empty. However, they are still selling it to people who booked it. Therefore, there is no difference either you are Platinum or not.
On the positive side, the room is nice, the pool is quite big for HIX brand, and the breakfast quality was good considering only 7 rooms were booked. I also met the GM during the breakfast and he was friendly.
I was quite rush when going to airport and I didn't notice if I left my hard-drive but the attentiveness of the housekeeping called me and told me that they found my hard-drive left. Too bad that I have to depart soon, so I asked them to send me by mail. I really appreciate to the high level service of the housekeeping.
I booked under IHG Opening special which entitled me 2,000 bonus points. However, the points posted are only the ordinary points and 2,000 pts were not posted. After submitting claim to IHG, finally I got the 2,000 pts but it was posted as non-elite points. Therefore, I shouldn't recommend you book bonus package points rate.
All in all, it is new property so the rooms are still in good conditions, tasty breakfast, and inviting swimming pool which are on the plus side. However, since there is no recognition for IHG Platinum members at all so probably there are no difference staying in this hotel and in other non-chain hotels.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Best HI Express in the world
This HI Express features a swimming pool and hot daily breakfast unlike many US, UK or Canadian HI Express locations. The architecture of the property used local materials in the restaurant and lobby area. The breezeway going through the restaurant area was well thought out. The use of energy efficient lighting in the hallways demonstrated their concern for the environment. The rooms have functional balconies and the AC worked perfect. The TV package was international in scope. The breakfast was served buffet style on hot electric warmer plates with a different choice daily. The breakfast is mostly Asian in style but yoghurts, cereal, fresh fruit and breads were also offered. No complaints at all.
The staff are trained in multiple jobs. The lady cleaning up the tables is also trained as a front desk clerk. All staff were friendly and appeared to really want to please the guests.
A fantastic hotel run by professional managers who care about the staff and guests.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mash3003 Holiday Inn Can Do Better
I was given a 2 single bed although I booked 1 double bed and I booked through the hotels website and not through any 3rd party website. The single beds were too tiny and I did not get good sleep the first night. Managed to change to another room after much complains and waiting for so long the next day. The double bed is also tiny for 2 persons. Is this why you call it Express? Maybe your guests stay only on Express basis? The room 620 had a foul smell every time you enter and had to bear with this for the next 5 days. The door was too tight and had to always use a bit of force to close and open the door. Other amenities in the room was average. The breakfast was very disappointing every morning. I read that the breakfast in the hotel is the best way to start off the day. Sadly I think this has to be re-looked. The Gym is poorly equipped but this is the only facility that I used every morning. The tissue paper was not replaced the water bottle in the gym is going down and no replacement until the day I left. There are 2 complimentary PC for use at the lobby somehow the connection is slow. I made an extension night booking and needed to explain this to the reception and they didn't seem to get it. After much explanation I manage to help them understand that I am indeed staying an additional night and had to ask for make-up room for that night stay. The luggage of guests are left all over the lobby as they wait to leave and this was a messy sight for a hotel. It may have been full occupancy due to the peak season, but that can't be an excuse to be messy and this sort of situation must be forecast and measures taken to manage it. I am unable to point out one single staff to either complain or compliment as they were too busy with their things to do at the lobby. From the room I called several times to the reception but no one answered and when I walked down to the lobby and asked why no one picked up the phone the staff said there is no call received. I did press 0 on the phone provided in the room wonder where the call went to. The card-key provided was faulty and had to change several times at the reception was very inconvenient. Location wise this isn't ideal for me as my preference for an island resort would be by the beach. I only chose this hotel because a Balinese friend recommended. Thank you

HI express as always, no frills but all you need for a transfer night. We arrived at 2 am and did not want to bother to drive to our final destination in the middle of the night. The room had everything what HI Express stands for. so good choice and value for money. One thing which I discover throughout the Express brand: They do not recognize youas ambassador. be it in US or throughout Asia. Never a problem in an InterCon or Indigo but always at the brands below. Training issue or systematic?

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by siambkk The worst experience I have never had
1. My reservation was used by another guest
-- > front desk did not check name and also did not keep his id copy.
I was surprised when i checked in, front desk said i checked in already. because i was already in room. i found front desk accepted my reservation to another guest without check name and passport.
It was very serious operation. hotel did not check guest's personal information when guest checked in. and I stayed small room without balcony as walk-in guest.
2. Senior supervisor did not give me its apology comment and countermeasures.
--> I requested front desk i wanted to talk supervisor about this very serious operation that night. but the person never contacted me because of his(her) absence or leave. i waited but no phone call. the next day there are also no apology and countermeasures. finally i checked out the next day.
it was the worst experience that i had never had in my hotel stay history.
management was so bad. I never recommend this hotel to everyone.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Arjuna93 Staff performance was disappointing
Room quality was OK, though slightly below what you usually expect from the brand. However service was disappointing. No recognition of IHG member status at all. First time to encounter such attitude. Wouldn't stay again in this particular property and cannot recommend it.
