The young lady who greeted us and checked us in was friendly and efficient.
Later when we requested face cloths for our room, the gentleman at the desk seemed confused but promised to rectify this. We never received our face cloths.
The telephone in our room didn't work and when we mentioned this on leaving he said "I do apologize for that" in a very unconvincing manner. I doubt that it would have been fixed.

This HI express is good for an early morning flight out of LGW, if you have your own car, NOTE no shuttle service to the airport.
The hotel has been updated since I was last here so things look clean and fresh.
However, the matress is not very comfortable as you can feel the springs. Maybe they should have spent a bit more on this aspect of the room rather than making the room and bathroom look more "up to date".
Also there is a small green light on the floor just inside the room area for fire alarm or something like this but it lights the room and disrupted my sleep. Now if they had put it nearer the door it would not have impinged on my sleep so badly. Poor design on someone part. Reception were aware of the problem but no action!!!!
Otherwise normal HI express fare, functional but not posh, but nor is the price.
So the old story you get what you pay for.

WE WERE VARY SUPRISED TO FIND THAT WE COULD GET BREAKFAST SO EARLY IN THE MORNING , THE PRICE OF ACCOMODATION WAS MORE THAN WE USALY PAY WHEN FLYING FROM GATWICK ,BUT BEING ABLE TO HAVE SMOTHING TO EAT AT THE HOTEL SO EARLY IN THE MORNING COMPENSATED FOR THE PRICE DIFFERANCE......
