This hotel has been under renovation for quite a long time. I think the renovators are nearly finished, but it seems like they have been at it for an inordinate amount of time.

great! Took my wife to see Ruidoso and Cloudcroft. Don't know if there is a Holiday inn in those towns.

My husband and I recently stayed at this facility. I had reserved a room with a king bed, but we were given a room with two queen beds instead. The sink in the room itself (not in the bathroom) was not hooked up, so it didn't work. Someone staying in the room prior to us apparently didn't know it worked as well and poured coffee grounds down the drain, which emptied into the cabinet under the sink. The WiFi in the hotel sucked and was slow and unreliable. One night, we came back into the hotel late at night, and no front desk attendant was anywhere to be found. There was a guest ringing a little bell on top of the desk and was quite vocal about how she had been waiting for someone to help her to no avail. The food at breakfast was hot and fresh though, and the attendant in the breakfast area was very friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the property was within walking distance of several restaurants.

During my stay at the Alomogordo Holiday INN Express, I was able to relax in an air conditioned room right next door to a variety of dinning options. In the room due to their wide variety of channels I was able to watch the Stanley Cup Playofffs.

I understand construction - but I do not understand why the tile portion of my room would, daily, get so dirty/sticky (unchanged mop water?). I also don't understand why it was such a staff challenge to restock used supplies (lotion, coffee pacs, laundry sack, trash liners, some towels)automatically EVERY day! The price of my room was never discounted! Twice I went to the front desk to ask for coffee, and twice I left a note on the coffee maker to have coffee restocked. I only received ONE laundry bag in the 12 nights I stayed! Each day when I returned from working I had an element of my room missing, The memorial day holiday crowd must have been underestimated, since breakfast items were quickly depleted -- and I'm sure ALOT of people were paying much MORE for rooms that weekend -- yet services/supplies were reduced. Also, the toilet had a whine EVERY time you flushed (and one flush was NEVER enough) The fan, after about 4 minutes, also started a grinding noise. No - I didn't report it this until now b/c I asked for FIVE days to have wipes filled in the exercise room and for soap/towels in the lobby ladies room (which was a temporary fix, hit/miss until days later). I had planned for some evening pool time and it was closed for most of my stay. All this being said, the beds/bedding was very nice -- so I didn't move -- still, more attention to such details would be nice. I find myself thinking, should I have another assignment in Alamagordo, I will be staying elsewhere.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by geek561569 Construction was not a problem
The rooms look great and were clean. The construction hardly made a difference in our stay. We will definitely stay here again.
I love that there is an outlet with USB plugs by the desk.
The window tint and window shades allowed us to adjust the light in the room to our liking.
