Best overALL hotel in the WORLD !!!! Cherry and her staff are the very best !!!! I've been staying at this hotel on and off for almost two years (business purposes) and never had any problems.
But no matter howmany hotels you stay in sooner or later you will have a problem somewhere even in the finest 5***** hotels.
It's only how a hotel corrects a problem when a problem does arise .. that seperates "good" hotels from "bad" hotels. This is the very "strength" of this hotel.
I believe in giving someone a chance to correct a problem when and if .. I have one.
I've never had a problem at all in this hotel .. BUT if by some very very small chance I did have a problem with ANYTHING .. ALL I would ever have to do is tell the hotel staff !!! Someone !!! ANYONE !!!
They will ALL help YOU!!!! They will do anything to make YOU happy .. but YOU have to tell them if you do have a problem. They don't know until You tell them. ALWAYS give someone a chance to correct a problem after you tell them about a problem. It's not fair to grade someone if you haven't told them about the problem. But no one can blame any hotel if the customer (like me) don't tell the hotel staff or give the hotel a chance to correct it.
I am "strict" on my reviews. I do point out the "good" .. but I will also point out the "bad" if I experience it. If my experience is bad and if I have given the hotel an oppurtunity to correct the problem and they haven't done it .. my review will reflect it !!!
But this hotel is the very best !!! This is ONLY my opinion of this hotel but I hope my review will help others. That's why I take the time to write them.
I really like staying here at this Holiday Inn Express in Apex !!!
It's home. It is home away from home.

The hotel has the potential to be nice. The lady that checked us in was super nice and she even made a call before my arrival to ask about a "romance package" because she was not sure if that hotel offered them. They did not so I could not get it but that was fine I was more interested in the Jacuzzi room as it was my 10 year wedding anniversary. I wanted to make the day special for my wife so I got her hair done, went to the spa, bought her a new wedding band , went out to eat and finally by around 7p.m. was able to make it to the hotel. The same lady was there # I can not recall her name# super friendly though, check in was a breeze and we were off to our room. Now before I start my room review let me say the day was already long so we were not keen on causing waves while there we just wanted to relax. When we entered the room there was an odor that neither of us could figure out. We both figured that it was from the Jacuzzi being cleaned or something of that nature. First thing we looked at was the Jacuzzi, :/ unfortunately the little things matter when you are paying for luxury. The Jacuzzi did not really appear all that clean looking because it needed caulking all the way around #half of it was missing giving it a very unpleasant appearance# Other than this and the weird smell thus far everything seemed fine. We both took showers and then went to lay down for a little while. When I approached my side of the bed the carpet was soaked so water actually gushed up. Knowing my wife would have a negative reaction I did not say anything and simply laid down. After her shower she again mentioned the funny smell and I chaulked it up to cleaning supplies again to get her off the subject even though at this point I was sure it had something to do with the floor being drenched. Shortly after my wife laid down she went to the bathroom for something then came to my side of the bed yikes she asked what I spilled in the floor and I said nothing I think it is from when I took a shower lol, I really was trying not to ruin the experience# she looked at me weird and said did you not dry off at all?????... Again I kind of moved away from the subject. So at this point we decide to get in the hot tub fill it up, get in, and start to relax. 5 minutes in we notice that whoa water is disappearing. We check to make sure the drain is working correctly and it is so we fill it back up. 5 minutes later same thing #where the heck is the water going# ???? We couldn't figure it out so we got out and didn't pay it any attention UNTIL we walked over to the bed. WOW the floor was even more wet than before but we could see nowhere where the water was coming from. Something was for sure wrong with the hot tub and obviously the smell was coming from the standing water the hot tub had been producing hopefully there was no mold in there we inhaled# So the evening progresses and we notice that we are right beside the "elevator" are you kidding me? I even had asked for late check out since we were not rewards members and again this was supposed to be a "romantic" "quiet" get away. I also asked before booking if there were any large events etc because I was looking for quiet and was assured everything was on the up and up. So needless to say ALL NIGHT we were awoken by the elevator going up and down and up and down. Why would you put any room next to the elevator? Seems like that should be a work area or something as people don't want to hear an elevator at night when they are trying to sleep. Neither of us were very rested as we were awakened throughout the night by the elevator. Spring forward happened overnight so we lost an hour and missed out on breakfast as the clocks were not "preset" By the time we noticed we missed breakfast we didn't even take advantage of the late check out we requested nor did we even make it to the regular check out time, we checked out early and went on our way. I stopped at the front desk on the way out and told the gentleman about the room Jacuzzi situation and he offered 30 off. I am not one to sit and complain in person and make things awkward so if he felt like that is all we deserved I just simply said that is fine, though I wanted to say are you kidding me? All in all before we got to the room I spent about 4K on my wife's new ring, dinner, spa, etc and just wanted a nice evening for us with a nice hot tub. This simply did not happen and I am very disappointed that this horrible experience cost me anything at all, a free night in the future should have been offered# . Would I stay here again? IF the room was not next to the elevator, IF the hot tub actually worked right and the room did not have a funny smell possibly. The lady who checked me in was so polite that I would give it another shot but not in that room and not until more was offered than 30 bucks for a horrible night.

The staff at this hotel is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are clean. Breakfast is hot and ready when you are. The staff makes you feel at home.

This is a very nice, basic hotel with a very friendly staff, clean rooms, and good internet service. The breakfast is adequate. If you are looking for a well stocked fitness center, this should not be your first choice.

As a travel nurse I just spent 3 days a week for 7 weeks in Apex. The staff was amazing. Cherry and her staff kept me safe, rested, nutrionally fed and excercised. A big shout out to Karla for flexing my snow days needs, Mike for booking me for 7 weeks with his salemanship, charm and saving me cookies. Frances the chef made the best breakfast and Ellen, Karla and Dane met my shift work breakfast needs. I will miss my new friends,

The staff is far and away the best in the business. I did not encounter anyone that was not smiling. I was able to relax and enjoy some down time. The room exceeded my expectations for cleanliness and comfort.

One of my very favorite hotels that I so much depend on with my work and my business. Each and every single time .. the people here come through !!! This hotel has the very best in all areas. Cleanliness, Front Desk staff and Hospitality. Even the maintenance guy (Herb) .. will do anything in this world for you if by some chance you have a problem with anything in the room. Victoria makes sure the rooms are spotless (trust me .. I mean "spotless !!!!). Karla and Dane both are in the driver's seat at the front desk and they always make sure my stay is everything I need. And more.
I can't thank this hotel enough and highly recommend to anyone looking for a good nights sleep in the Raleigh / Durham area.
