Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfactory room, ok breakfast, poor communication I was disappointed in the communication about the hotel pool renovations. A hotel that cares about their guests will care that they are notified about inconveniences in accommodations ahead of time. We usually travel with our children. Fortunately we were not on this trip or we would have left and found an alternative hotel. Very disappointed that this wasn't mentioned ahead of time. The toilet seat in the bathroom was nasty and falling apart. Breakfast was ok. Staff was great. February 4, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by HIE as you would expect This property is right on par with what you would expect from a HIE. The place is clean and up to the standard. The area of the hotel is near all things "corporate America", but is a 10 minute drive from the cool shops and Lake Michigan. If you just need a comfortable place to sleep for the night, this is right off the highway and perfect for those needs. Breakfast was decent, too! January 11, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not Very Good This hotel is in OK condition and the staff was great, but the facilities left much to be desired. We had a sticky floor in our first room (and there was dried rice grains in the pull-out bed). We were moved to a different room. Both rooms had noisy heating/cooling units and smoke detectors that flashed a bright light 24/7. Not the best environment for sleep. We received some yogurt that had curdled in the breakfast area, but everything else was standard HIE breakfast. January 4, 2016

I had been on the road for 3.5 hours by the time I arrived at the hotel and should have made it home in about 1.5. I was stressed out and frustrated when I arrived and the employee at the front desk was amazingly helpful getting me checked in. I was able to relax in my room and then the front desk was helpful directing me to a local area with options for dinner. January 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by accomdating we were in ice storm in Holiday Inn Express in St. Joseph when they lost power. You found room for us and made us feel very welcome. Especially Spring was very helpful. I wish that there was more of a lobby lounge but otherwise we would come again. January 2, 2016
