Pleased with our three night stay at the Hoiday Inn Express, Burnley. Friendly, efficient staff, comfortable bed and a nice breakfast. The hotel was ideally located for our visit to Pendle Hill and surrounding villages.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by disturbedblue Perfect mid Leeds Liverpool canal cycle stay, just off the cut!
Nice modern rooms with everything you would expect. Instant hot water available. Great showers. I like the option of the blue light in the bathroom so you can find the loo without waking up your other half.
The staff were fantastic, we had arranged to put the push bikes in a conference room overnight, but as they were muddy locked them up outside (at our choice), modern covered bike shed with secure concreted in steel loops, it rained all night and the bikes stayed dry. We got access to a hose to wash the bikes as well.
Bed and pillows were a little soft and unsupportive for me, but seemed good quality (more a preference thing I think).
Breakfast is all you can eat, which was great for loading up, but the eggs were rather poor, bread was fresh and excellent and the sausage and bacon hit the spot. Coffee was also good enough to start the day.
I would stay again if cycling through.

Decent spacious hotel within easy reach of motorway. Only left one pillow each, but I'm sure they would have provided more if asked. TV system rather dated with no "guide" on remote. Air-con worked well and kept the room comfortable. The free breakfast can be a bit of a bun fight but this can be avoided by asking staff to recommend the quieter slots. There is a sitting area outside the bar but being adjacent to the motorway it is very noisy. Meals in the Hotel overpriced such as a fiver for a bowl of soup! Would stay again and eat out accordingly.
