Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dave D. Great Location for what I needed
Over all experience was ok... Staff was great but the room was a bit loud and constant whistling in the vents... Hot breakfast was a plus for sure... Will I go there again.. Maybe, but in a different room.. away from the elevators and room 420

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy shoes Great home base for shopping excursion
Good location, fairly new/updated, very clean and well- equipped standard hotel. Great location to use as a base for weekend shopping trip. Fresh, bright interior and exterior. Bathroom fixtures in need of small repairs (i.e. shower head loose and not stable, toilet seat in need of tightening, shower curtain had smalls rips) but that did not really detract from our wonderful experience at the hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Elle.jake South Calgary stay
I really like the hotel and the suites have doors which separate the common area from the bedroom area which is a plus. It is nice to have the option to open the windows for fresh air.
The only thing which is uncomfortable is the level of heating in the common areas and the hallways. When I stayed in February, I thought it might be due to the season. During my stay in May, there was a similar, overheated atmosphere. I would enjoy staying here even more if the heating was reduced to a more temperate level.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kbob3 Great room, excellent service
We had a great experience at the Calgary Holiday Inn Express on McLeod Trail. The staff was friendly, gave a great reference for a restaurant for dinner. The room was quiet and clean. The beds were comfy with ample pillows. Best Wifi reception we have ever had at a Hotel, which was great for travelling with a teenager. We didn't stay for breakfast, but were happy with everything we experienced. Plus our room had the best shower I've had in a hotel. My very tall teen thought it could be higher, but the water pressure was amazing and the tub was very roomy. Would not hesitate to stay here again. My son even wrote a note to the staff and left it on the bed.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by wwriter Excellent hotel - surpassed my expectations
Wonderful staff (particularly Kevin, the on-duty manager, who went above and beyond for us and was very caring).
Surprisingly good quality breakfast includes eggs, sausages and/or bacon. There is a nice lounge to work in during the day. Nice little business center with one computer and printer. The large pool and huge slide were great for our teenage son and we loved the hot tub - relaxed there every evening.
The beds were very comfortable and room and hotel was very clean and peaceful. Several nice restaurants (Ricky's, a Vietnamese restaurant, sushi place, Original Joes) are in the adjoining plaza. SouthCentre Mall is within walking distance.
This hotel was much better than we had expected from an "Express" brand and we will definitely stay here again. We are loyal Holiday Inn customers now (and new IHG points plan members).

We needed to stay in a hotel due to having a house renovation. The hotel was quiet and very comfortable. We needed to add on a few nights which front reception did easily and quickly. Great location, near a variety of restaurants and a small strip mall.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RLH65 I guess International Platinum Elite means nothing
I checked in with co workers for a week stay. My first coworker (platinum) was upgraded to a Jacuzzi room. I checked in next and I was upgraded to a king room. My other coworker who is just an IHG member (not platinum) was upgraded to a Jacuzzi room. Does my status for my many, many stays mean nothing to this hotel? I have to stay next week here with my same coworkers so I'll see what happens then. I worked hard for this status and believe I should be rewarded instead of overlooked. Otherwise the property is nice enough to stay and I recommend it if you can overlook your lack of status benefits.
