Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Things have changed I stayed here a few years ago and wrote a raving review. Regrettably, things have shifted here in the interim and not in a good way. I'll tell you the worst first. Before I went to breakfast I began to see roaches larger than my thumb on the floor and walls of my guest room. I tried to kill them but they were too fast. I went to the front desk and found all the lights out (a surprise) and asked several times "Is anybody here?" In a few seconds a sleepy-eyed young man stumbled out of a darkened office and I reported that he needed to tell someone to summon an externinator for the second floor. His eyes never met mine. I also told him I was unable to get the ice machine on the second floor to work the night before as well as that morning and it needed someone's attention. I asked him to tell the appropriate individual. I went on to breakfast. The powdered eggs were so bad (soft like cream of wheat) and the "turkey sausage" that HIE's now seem to use everywhere is a total turnoff for me. When I was departing the hotel a little while later (not much later, due to the incessant roaches) I called the desk to see if my earlier reporting had been called to someone's attention. It had not. The man on the phone was alarmed about the infestation of roaches, said it was news to him, and he would get someone on it that day. He also said the icemaker was new and "nobody knows how to work it but me." Perhaps some written instructions alongside it would help the customers too! It's not a nice place any more and I won't be stopping over there on my many trips through Chattanooga. Oh yes, they have an indoor pool but beware -- it doesn't come close to being heated.
