I have stayed at this HIX several times now as part of my trips through MDW. The staff is always welcoming, polite and professional taking care of you quickly and competently. The hotel is always clean and looks great from the lobby to each room. I have stayed at dozens of HIXs across the country and this is the one of the top overall.

The hotel is located 5 minutes from Midway Airport, in a fenced-in campus of five major-brand hotels. The area is a bit run down but we felt safe in the fenced-in area. There are three restaurants on the property, including a very good Fridays. The hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms are clean and the furnishings are new. We were able to relax easily and felt safe on the property. The breakfast main courses were not tasty; on the other hand yogurt, fruit, muffins, and cereals were provided and therefore one can get an adequate breakfast. Overall the hotel is a good value considering how expensive other hotels are in the Chicago area. I will definitely stay there again.

The staff was so nice a friendly.. especially John at the front desk, he was extremely nice, he went out of his way to make sure our stay was the best.. I would recommend this hotel to everyone that I know looking for a nice hotel to stay while in town..

We arrived after a long day of shopping in Chicago to find that our room was out of order due to water damage from rains. The front desk clerk showed us three other room options and we selected a room that had an upgrade of a whirlpool tub. We had a great stay and were not charged a different price than originally due, even with the upgraded room. Would recommend this hotel to friends staying in the Chicago area.

We were greeted by smiling faces and outstanding customer service at check-in. We were able to get into our room early and hit the Windy City relaxed knowing our stuff was in our room. The shuttle took us to the airport to catch the CTA into the city. Our overall experience was fantastic!

I am very irritated with this hotel. I made a reservation using my rewards points for this hotel and arrived at 3:00am. After waiting on the front desk clerk for 20 min to return to the desk from making her rounds I advised her of my reservation and she confirmed she had it. The hotel was descent for the short time we were there but my irritation grew from when I noticed they used my points and charged my bank card I had on file for the hotel stay. I spoke with the GM and she was able to identify the issue and advised she was sorry and would have it resolved. This is the second week and the $185.00 still have not been credited to my account. I was told I would receive points for the inconvenience and I still have not noticed the points. What was more irritating was when I spoke with the clerk that checked me in she told me I did not tell her I had a reservation I gave her my card. When those were the first words I told her and she told me that my name sounded familiar and she had my reservation. Really my past experience as a platinum member was when I arrive at a hotel and give my name they have the key and reservation already prepared.

My husband and I booked a whirlpool suite recently for our 20th wedding anniversary. The hotel was beautiful, the staff were amazing and the room was very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.... if you like a bed that is hard as a rock! The cost was significantly more than originally quoted, which was extremely dissapointing when you plan a trip within a "budget". I strongly encourage future patrons to contact your exact location where you plan on staying for the room rate, city and state taxes... and which "hotel package" you are REALLY eligible for prior to making your final destination arrangements.

All my kids and grand-kids live in and around Chicago, so whether is birthdays, graduations, baby showers or wedding, I'm flying in and out of Midway airport a lot. My secret is to unwind at the Holiday Inn before flights home. Free shuttle to airport, someone else fixing a warm breakfast and making the bed for me, what could be better!

Great place to stay when traveling into Midway! The hotel was well worth the money spent. The rooms were clean and well kept along with the entire hotel. The shuttle service was extremely helpful and easy to find from the airport along with it's pick up outside each of the Midway Center Hotels. Once at the airport the train into the city was easy to find and an easy and quick right into the downtown loop. I would recommend staying at this location when flying into Midway to stay out of the hustle and bustle of the downtown area. It couldn't have been better!

At the advice of a seasoned traveler, we were told it would be wise to stay overnight near Midway airport rather than making an early morning drive from Peoria. He recommended Holiday Inn Express. I am going to thank him for his wisdom when I next see him. Not only did it take the stress out of fighting traffic, the hotel offers a very reasonable shuttle service every twenty minutes from the front door. We will definitely repeat this decision for future trips out of Midway. Good hotel - good staff as well.

The hotel was perfectly comfortable and the breakfast was great. The staff went above and beyond as we forgot one of the kid's backpacks on way to airport and they were nice enough to just Fedex it to us rather than have us miss our flight. Thanks!

I stay at IHG brands on a regular basis. In fact, two days after my stay at this Holiday Inn Express, I checked into another Holiday Inn Express in Texas. I understand that I was paying for location in Chicago but the lack of amenities in the room were unacceptable. I have come to expect a fridge and maybe a microwave in all rooms at Holiday Inn Expresses. This room had neither. I located a microwave in the room with the ice machine and vending machine. The food was simply fair. This was not a value at all. Especially not compared to other properties across the country. Great staff.

My stay was good. I stayed one night and left my car for a week while on vacation. I flew out of Midway. It was very convenient in location. The shuttle was very easy and runs every 20-30 minutes. The hotel was clean and nice. The parking lot was fenced in and I had no problems with my car on return. They had a simple breakfast in the lobby, but I didn't have time to use it. The lady at the desk couldn't have been nicer and was very helpful. I would definitely stay there again if I fly out of Midway. My brother and his family have stayed there and recommended it to me also.

The staff was wonderful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The free continental breakfast was delicious. I was surprised at how quiet the rooms were being so close to an airport.

The room rate was off the charts compared to the same hotel and room at other locations where I travel. I understand that the location has a great deal to do with room rates which is fine but I did not think that the poor quality of the service would be the result of paying more! There was never any freash coffee after Breakfast. There were no choices for oatmeal in the morning. Most days I took the last two. It was not like it was late in the morning. In most cases i was one of the first one down in morning. I have never had this poor of service from another HIX in all there years. I will not stay there again, and will be leaving a suggestion with our travel Dept as others travel in the area that they too will want to look else where for accomodations. Thank you

Thanks to Liz and her hard work, I never missed a breakfast. With the number of guests, I was a bit concerned with having breakfast before leaving for work. She was able to keep up with the volume and made sure there was plenty of items available, including my favorite of sausage gravy & biscuits.
If I was to change one thing, it would be to have cookies made in the afternoons like Anchorage and Seattle North Shore properties. I remember walking in to those sites and being greeted with the welcoming smell of fresh baked cookies. It brings back memories of coming home from school to Grandma having cookies ready before starting homework. After reading some of the reviews at these sites, that is one perk that guests remembered. They may be missing out on creating a lasting impression by doing these in the mornings. Just a suggestion though, I still grab a cookie no matter when they were made. :-)
