The front of the hotel facing the street leads you to believe it is an abandoned building. I stayed my first night worried I was the only guest staying at the property. While lobby refreshments are a good idea, the urn used to dispense a mango/fruit tea or something similar didn't look clean or inviting. The halls look rundown. The hotel needs a good dose of updating and fresh paint and carpets. The property doesn't make you feel secure or safe. People are constantly outside smoking, so doors slam shut every 5 minutes with people going outside to smoke.

Overall this is a really nice location. I have stayed here before and this time though there were a few issues which haven't been there before the staff was very responsive. Any issue that I brought to their attention was dealt with quickly and professionally. I always stay at this hotel when I am in the area and will continue to do so in the future.

I normally do not stay at Holiday Inn Express because I prefer a full service hotel with restaurant and bar. But I have to say, Perry does a fantastic job during breakfast. It was as though we were in a full service restaurant. Bring refills and being very attentive to all the guests. What a very pleasant young man you have working there.

We did not have time to sample any of the breakfast food, but it looked and smelled delicious. And there was a lot to choose from.
